Lightning Rod Weathervane Part
Antique weathervane arrow design. I believe this was attached to a lightning rod stand because of the mount size in the middle. It probably had a horse. Cow, or chicken welded to the rod.still has traces of two welds. The arrow is steel, and the rod is either copper or brass. It's 32 1/2" long and weighs between 1 1/2 and 2 pounds. Cool Design! 4 star D & S ball arrow and cobalt lightning rod ball,weathervane lightning rod
I have for sale a nice D& S company 4 star ball arrow and cobalt D& S lightning rod ball. Stand is not included. For photo purposes only. Arrow is very nice with no damage. The cobalt ball has one nice collar, the other collar is chipped way down( aluminum caps for ball are included) I believe it was chipped intentionally so that it would fit into the arrow without having to bend the top of the arrow so that it would fit. I have seen some D& S arrows that the frame was been bent by the installer to make room for the ball. The body of the ball is nice with some staining, no cracks or chips. On the top of the ball where it is embossed with the D& S logo it looks like scotch tape was on it, it extends from the collar down about an inch. It does not show up in the pictures. I will leave it up to the new owner to try and remove ... moreit if they desire. I never worried about it as it is not that noticeable. Antique Zinc Ram Lightning Rod Weathervane
Antique hollow bodied zinc ram lightning rod weathervane with cast iron arrow. Oxidized surface with remains of old crusty white paint. There are some very faint traces/flecks of gold leaf or paint that don't show in the photos. Has some bullet holes and a small crack above the second hoof. But the ram is still firmly fixed to the arrow. Seams are all tight except for just around the uppermost bullet hole. No repairs and the arrow is straight. This is the larger size of the lightning rod animals; the ram measures just over 14" long by 10 1/2" tall. The arrow is 32 7/8" long overall and the inner mounting hole is slightly over one inch in diameter. I do not have a"Buy it Now" price or end auctions early. Any questions. Please ask.

Vintage Antique Weathervane Horse & Rider, Sulky, Great Patina, Copper Brass
This is a wonderful vintage weathervane of a sulky with rider. Trotting horse. It is all copper and brass with great original patina. This F o lk Art weather vane dates to the 19th century. Copper forms are soldered together and the figures are hollow. This is a very large piece. The measurements are 31"W x 16.5"H. One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. I can see no other areas that need repair. This has been in a private collection for over 20 years. I do not know the original area that it came from. We had it appraised 10 years ago And the value was $10.000. It came for an estate collection made over 70 years. It was thought that this came from the east coast area. It's made of copper, has a great weathered surface with gilt and patina. I wish I knew more about this. but alas I don't. Offered here is a 25 inch long Primative Folk Art Wooden Plane. The Wings stretch 20 inches. There is a metal piece attached to the bottom and some brackets that lead me to believe that this was attached to something so it could spin. 1) Maybe it was a weathervane? 2) Maybe an eye catching attachment to a store sign or a Billboard? It's a mystery. What we do know is its been around. Im going to guess its from the 1930s or 1940s. It needs a new home. Vintage Copper Whale Weathervane Available is a nice vintage copper whale weathervane. It was gifted to our family years ago by a friend who owned a home at the Jersey shore. We had every intention of using it. But never did as we own horses so, of course, our weathervane is of a horse. It has been stored in our garage since gifted and now needs to find a suitable home. I am not weathervane savvy. So I have taken plenty of pictures with the hope that any potential buyer will have a good idea of the condition and size. Antique Copper Folk Art Rooster Weathervane I really like this folky rooster vane. It may very well be Canadian. Having both a crown, an orb and a cross, probably east coast. It is artfully cut from sheet copper and is at least 19th century, though the rooster is similar to 18th century ones. I believe it was once brightly painted with red and white, but only small vestiges remain. Height 34 1/8( 86.7 cm) WEIGHT 2 pounds 14 ounces I sell most of my items on eBay with a reasonable reserve. Vintage Old and Original Horse Weathervane and Lightning Rod Ball, Neat and Nice
Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. Beautiful and rare in this smaller size. Excellent detail. Wonderful patina from years of being outside. Wingspan is 17 inches and 13 inches tall. I bought this eagle from Harold Cole Antiques in Woodbury CT many years ago. I paid 2500.00. I realize that the market has suffered in recent years and will look at reasonable offers. I own several catalogs from the old makers and the olny one I have seen with the same dimensions was made by Washburne. However, I am not certain that this is the exact same model.
