4 Vintage Sierra Electric Biplex 15a receptacles, w/matching wall plates, ivory
Four vintage Sierra"Biplex" duplex receptacles. Complete with their matching wall plates. These are 15 amp/125 volt grounded duplex receptacles, which Sierra called"Biplex" because of the rectangular pattern they used, instead of the more usual duplex receptacle. These are similar in look to a modern GFI receptacle, but are narrower and taller, necessitating their own wall plates(they do fit in a standard electrical box, however) All components are new old stock, having never been installed. The receptacles are still in their original cardboard boxes, which are also in nice shape and display well if that's important to you. The wall plates are also unused, but two of them no longer have the plastic wrappers, and the other two wrappers aren't in very good shape either. However, they're all in perfect shape, ... morewith no scratches, cracks, or chips(the screws are missing, however you can easily get new ones at your local hardware store) These are pretty neat items-the wall plates have grooves in them similar to the classic Uniline pattern, and the receptacles have similar detailing. These would be an interesting addition to a mid century home restoration, or a retro themed office or store, and are an unusual item. This auction is for four receptacles with matching wall plates-I will not separate the items. Our shipping cost is for all four plates. But we're happy to combine shipping with our other auctions-just ask!

A lot of 5 vintage. New old stock Sierra Electric Biplex duplex receptacles, complete with matching Sierra wall plates! The Biplex was Sierra's modern style receptacle, with a rectangular shape similar to Leviton's"Decora" style, but these are taller and narrower than standard, requiring special wall plates to fit. Conveniently, I have five plates for you too! These are to Sierra's own pattern, with vertical grooves matched by the same pattern in the receptacle face. They make a nice, flat surface, very modern with a Mid-Century retro flair! The receptacles are 15 amp 125v grounded outlets, and fit standard electrical boxes. Vintage Sierra Electric Biplex 15 amp receptacles, NOS, ivory
Vintage Sierra Electric Biplex duplex receptacles. These were made by Sierra in the 50's and early 60's as a sort of modern looking receptacle. Similar to the later Leviton"Decora" line of square devices. These are a bit narrower and taller than Leviton's, so the wall plates do not work, but there are manufacturers still making Biplex plates so you can still use these neat vintage pieces! They're rated at 15 amp/125 volts, are grounded, and fit standard electrical boxes. All ten are still in their original cardboard boxes, which are bright and still display great if that's important to you. Neat vintage pieces!

NOS Bakelite Art Deco Vintage Sierra Electric Ivory double switch plate covers 2
This is a lot of[2] new/old stock Sierra. 2- gang toggle switch plates. Both plates are still with original plastic but the plastic was opened in order to provide you with photos. Ivory cover screws are included. The plates and screws are approx 60 years old so the screws(hard to see through packaging may or may not be perfect. Replacements in ivory can be picked up at any hardware or home improvement store though if needed. One cover is in perfect original condition; the other has a nick out of the edge as seen in the photos. I had several of these and this is the last pair. This is the only pair that have original screws with them. The plates were manufactured by the Sierra Electric Corp. Gardena, California.

Vintage NOS Sierra Electric Biplex wall plates, ivory
Vintage wall plates by Sierra Electric. Specific to their Biplex range of rectangular receptacles. These are similar in shape to Decora style devices, but are taller and narrower. Sierra Electric made their own style of wall plate with vertical grooves similar to a Uniline plate, but these tend to be hard to find even for common devices like toggle switches- they're really rare for Biplex receptacles! These are all new old stock plates, but the plastic wrappers have long since disappeared, so there are a few dirt marks on them but there are no cracks or scratches. The color is still nice and even, with no yellowing. If you need some Biplex receptacles. 58 NOS Vintage Bakelite Sierra Electric ivory ribbed switch plates/outlet covers
Up for auction here is a lot of NOS Sierra Electric brand vintage ribbed ivory switchplates and outlet covers. To wit: 33- single gang outlet covers- of these. Four appear to be of a slightly different vintage, based on the fact that the backs are different(see photo: the one on the right is the"different" one) The design and appearance of the fronts are identical on both"types" however. 18- single gang switchplates 6- double gang switchplates 1- double gang combination(switch/outlet) plate All of the plates are ivory. With very minor variations in shade that I suspect all fell under"acceptable" at the factory. Side by side, you might tell a difference; in use, you'll never notice. Most of them have the cover screws, but several of the screws worked their way out of the packaging. I will include whatever ... moreloose screws I find(sorry, there was no way to avoid that phrase) It is likely that some of the cover screws are AWOL, but these are available at any hardware store, so no need to panic. They have ribbing across the central area and the wide horizontal bands across the top and bottom give them a handsome detail. Each Measures approx. 4-1/2” high x 2-3/4” wide Screws are not included. Made of Bakelite. With line work and Art Deco accents on the perimeter these hard-to-find creamy ivory plates go well with Art Deco and many other decors. Nicely grooved background with the Art Deco bands at the top and bottom. Be sure and enlarge the photo to see all the detail! These items may have need to be cleaned& may have some paint from previous owner. There may also be hairline crack from being tightening down to far, light scuffs from use. see photos, I clean each item but sometimes I may miss something.
