Both covers show age appropriate wear but I do not see any chips. Cracks or breaks on either piece. I suspect that all of the plates have been used. I cleaned just a corner of one to check the brass(see pic) I cleaned the corner with a bit of paint stripper and polished it with Simichrome polish. I'm sure Brasso would work as well. These are used plates and are painted so expect to find some flaws such as light scratches or blemishes in the brass. There are 2 single unmarked plates. 2 double plates marked THE PERKINS ELECTRIC SW. MFG. CO. MADE IN USA and one triple plate that is also unmarked. The single plates are unpainted and all the rest have a coat or two of paint on them. The switches are in pretty good condition, I see one with a piece broken out, see pic. A group of 5 single push button light switch plates made of brass( a magnet does not stick to them) The plates are apr. 2 3/4 X 4 1/2 inches. There is some surface scratches. Depending upon how the plates are held and the light reflects off of them. There is some very light/ shallow dings in a couple of the plates. The dings are just signs of use and do not distract from anything. A person almost has to look for them. The pictures should show the rest. Antique Perkins Brass Covers and 2 Push Button Switches - 4-Way (?) Vintage
Three brass Perkins Electric switch covers in good antique condition and two antique push-button light switches. Please look carefully at the photos for the best description of these items. They plates have no dents. But they do have scratches. The two single plates do not rock when placed on a flat surface. The double will wobble just a little when pressed on one corner(less than 1/16" of twist) The large plate has a great patina. But does have some thin deposits in a few places, mainly where the verdigris shows in the pictures. The switches have not been tested with power. One has an"E" on the back and"4w" I don't know if it's a 4-way switch. Both operate fine as far as switching goes. But as I said I've not tested them with electricity.
