Vintage wall plate for Despard devices, plus switch, outlet, and pilot light
An interesting vintage setup! A vintage Uniline single gang wall plate. For three Despard devices. The plate is to the earlier Uniline style of plate, with narrow vertical ribs and an Art-Deco influenced border. The plate is still in the original cardboard sleeve, and is in perfect shape with no chips, scratches, or cracks, and is a rich chocolatey brown color. Popular from the 50's until the 70's, Despard electrical components were designed to allow multiple devices in a single location, without having to use a larger electrical box, and to allow mixing and matching of components. Although considered obsolete for new builds, Despard components are still in use and can be hard to find replacements for. This set includes a 20 amp single pole switch* a 15 amp grounded receptacle, a red pilot light, and a mounting bracket. The pilot ... morelight would be wired to indicate if a light in a separate location-such as a garage, attic, or outdoors-was on, and is an item that can be hard to find these days. All components are unused, but have been out of the packaging for a long time and show some minor scuffing, particularly the pilot light lens. we do have 15 amp single pole switches as well. These are solid brass outlet plates salvaged from a carpentry job 9 outlet plates and two double switch plates. They do have scratches and some paint on them. They can be cleaned up. If no one buys them they are going for scrap. They are.040 thousands thick. One of the double ones is slightly bent. They weigh almost two pounds. Not like today's China produced plates. These are vintage wall plates from old homes. The 2 switch wall plate is in very nice condition with only some very light scratching from use. It has"Made in U.S.A. 040 Thick" on the back. It's brass. Measures 4.5" x 2.75" and weighs 2.56 oz. The brass wall outlet plate has an outlet cover that flips up and down. It measures 4.5" x 2.75" and weighs 2.56 oz. It has a little more scratching and discoloration than the 2 switch plate. The back reads"Harvey Hubbell, Inc. Bridegeport, Conn. The 4 switch wall plate is in very nice condition with minimal scratching and discoloration. There are no marks on the back. It may be brass, but is likely some other metal and the front has been copper dipped or plated. It weighs 3.84 oz. and measures 4.5" x 4.5" Paypal only. Vtg Lot of 5 GE Bakelite Switch Plate Outlet Cover Single Round Receptacle NOS
GE BAKELITE SWITCH/ OUTLET COVER PLATE LOT OF 5 This auction is for a lot of 5 cover plates for an electric switch or outlet receptacle. They are new old stock; 4 are still in their original cellophane wrappers. The cellophane wrappers are very fragile and cracked. Two of the packages have their original screws. The other three are without. One has no cellophane as seen in the photos. They were made by General Electric and have the logo on the reverse and the symbol for the Underwriters Laboratory. And another mark that looks like"CSA" They each have a single. Round opening. The plates are smooth without any ribs or engraving, just a slight rounding at the edges. They each measure about 4 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches. The round opening measures about 1 3/8 inches across. They are made of bakelite. A set of 3 vintage switch plate and outlet cover from American Tack and Hardware Company. 2 switch plates with the year 1967 stamped on the back and 1 outlet cover with 1968 stamped on the back.
