The top brass ... moreplate is Bryant and the mechanical switch portion is signed PERKINS. This high quality Perkins push button switch, would have been installed on the door of a closet or entrance door, so that when the door is open, it automatically turns on a light. It would have been a state of the art item at the time it was invented and made back in the early 1900's. I would imagine that very few homes, would have had such a unique luxury item as this. This is the only one like it that we have ever seen. It came out of a wonderful Victorian mansion in the Historic Old West end of Toledo, Ohio. The brass plate is signed BRYANT UND. LAB INSP. The switch is in, all original, as found, working condition. It measures approximately 4 5/8 inches long" the top plate" by 1 1/4 inches wide. The mechanical portion measures about 4 3/8 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide by 2 5/8 inches deep and weighs just over a pound. The over all condition is very good with a few little chips to the internal porcelain surround. This very hard to find unusual mechanical door switch would make a fine addition to any early electric switch collection or would be a great, original period item to use in your Victorian home. Vintage H&H Dual Fixture Push Button Light Switch ~Extremely Unique from Others~
Collectible H&H Dual Fixture Push Button Light Switch One screw is missing as seen in picture. This switch is very different from others. It's constructed with a rotating brass paddle to operate two different fixtures from the same switch. It was most likely an early attempt to conserve space or materials. This is not a 3 way. Besides it being unique. It operates in a very odd way. If you were to enter the room with two lights off and push the button, it would turn on light A. If you were to hit the button that was now in the out position, it would turn off light A and turn on light B. If you were then to hit the button in the out position, it would turn on light A and leave light B on as well. And then if you were to hit it again, it would turn both off. 2 Vintage Deco Victorian Nouveau Crafts Brass Push Button Light Switch Covers
You are bidding on a Set of 2 Vintage Art Deco Victorian Nouveau Crafts Project Brass Push Button Light Switch Covers. Each cover measures 4 1/2" long and 2 3/4" wide. Both covers show age appropriate wear but I do not see any chips. Cracks or breaks on either piece. There are 2 very tiny dings(dents) at the top of one of the plates(see pic# 8) They are old and used so they are not perfect. They could be cleaned but I will leave that to the new owner. Here is pair of vintage Perkins push button light switches with mother of pearl. Both of these switches operate with a solid and loud click when pushed in either direction. The Perkins name is cast into the solid black switch and the other is beautiful mother of pearl. All of the buttons are in great shape and appear to function as designed with no damage or repairs. The switch boxes are made of ceramic and have a November 3 03 patent date cast into the bottom. There is one small broken corner on one of the ceramic boxes. Nothing to interfere with use however. Vintage push button light switch pair. 2 way AND 3 way WITH cover plates
We remodeled some of our house(built in 1907) and these were the LAST TWO push button switches in the house. THEY BOTH WORKED PERFECTLY. The cover plates both say Patented Nov 3. 1903.The Perkins Electric Switch MFG Co. Bridgeport, CT. The 2 way switch says Pat Nov 3 03 on the back and the 3 way says Webber Association. We got a little white paint on one of the buttons, but it should clean off just fine. Any questions feel free to ask!

Antique Double Push Button Light Switch Mother Of Pearl Snap Vintage Lighting
One complete double light switch set up. With original wall plate. Pulled out of a 1906 Seattle mansion that was being torn down a few years ago, they were installed and working up to that point. I definitely recommend having a professional check them out before using, though. Mother of pearl buttons are in good shape and have a strong snap to them. Stamped brass wall plate is a little tarnished but otherwise fine. One ceramic body has a chip off the corner and one is missing two wire mounting screws. One still has the original UL sticker on it.
