Wonderful Mid-Century "Danish Modern" looking Hammered Silver Bowl Candy Dish
This is a wonderful. Mid-century hammered silver bowl that has the look of Danish Modern with its very clean lines! Flared bowl, on a short, fluted stand, bears light hammer impressions on the inside to give it a designed effect,while the outside is much smoother. In excellent vintage condition with only light surface scratches and a soft patina. It was nearly black when I got it, but I gently cleaned it to open up its true beauty, but could be polished more fully to really shine! It is stamped only with the initials"M.L" and the numbers 1949. I believe it is the year and maker's initials, but have not been able to verify that. I have tested it several times with acid, and it always tests positive for sterling silver! It is rather heavy, weighing approx 9 ounces(that's a lot of grams!
