Antique Brass Switch/Buzzer Plate-Solid Brass
Offered for sale is an antique brass buzzer/switch plate. Embossed on the back is: Hart Rotary Switch. Made By Hart& Hegeman Company. The dimensions are: 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" Hopefully you can see from the pictures that has a dimple in the center where the switch is mounted. These I believe were used primarily as push button covers like for a front door buzzer. However because it says it is a"rotary switch" leads me to believe that there was an application that used a rotary switch back in the day. Anyway, hopefully someone out there can make use of it. Here is an old brass switch plate or switch cover. This switch plate has a slot that is smaller than usual. The slot is a hair over 11/16 inches long and 3/8 inch wide. The plate is is 4 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches. It is stamped C.E.M. Co Bridgeport. Conn Made In U.S.A. on the back. This antique plate has spot of verdigris(green oxidation) on the back. There are scratches in the original clear coat finish, and areas where the finish has worn off. There is tarnish and oxidation where the finish is missing.
