It was made in the USA by Perkins. It is patent dated on the bottom SEPT 17 1912. The black turn button has PERKINS name cast into it. I tested the switch with a continuity tester and it tests ok. Fantastic Antique Perkins Porcelain & Chrome Snap Turn 4 way LIGHT SWITCH
Very nice estate Perkins 4 wire light switch. It's a spring loaded switch that snaps into the settings of OFF LOW MEDIUM or HIGH. And is a larger switch measuring about 3 1/2" across and 3" out from the wall. This switch is in great condition for the age, with a little bit of wall paint and a few tiny chips to the porcelain. These antique wall switch plate covers came from a home originally built in Southern New Jersey in the 1840's; must have been installed when house was electrified in the late 1800's. The covers are silver plate with a beautiful& ornate embossed design depicting a federal eagle atop a wreath& urn. Included are two single switch[ 3-1/8 x 4-3/4" and three double switch plates[5-1/8" high x 4-1/2" wide] No maker's marks. The patina has not been touched. No breaks or dents in the metal.
