There are two identical double switch plate covers in this lot. The diecast pewterlooking metal was gold toned at some point with most of the gold color gone. The backs of the plates are marked 1967 american tack& hardware co. Inc#60TT. The metal is not damaged or repaired and has a pewter looking finish with raised floral/ rose design around the edges overall condition is VG.

Now that I have finished sorting through and emptying out my 100+ year old home I have started to venture out. lol. There are just so many barn. This set was salvaged from a turn of the century house in the Northeast. I have quite a few to list and I guess back in the 1960's someone was restoring a Victorian house and replaced them with era inspired outlet and switch plate covers. These two outlet covers have a dark pewter finish and are quite heavy. Large and ornate. They are in excellent condition and the back is signed 1966 American Tack& Hardware Co, Inc. 35D. The face of the switch plate where the flowers are is recessed and textured. The raised edge has scroll work along the edge. Some of the gold paint on the scroll work has worn off. There is one small yellow spot on the face of the plate, otherwise it is in good, used, vintage condition. No hardware is included. But they're pretty heavy- I can assure you they're not wood or plastic! Stainless steel? I'm sorry, I just have no idea. I do know they were made in 1967 by the American Tack& Hardware Co. Inc. and there's a number#60TT on them. My parents bought their house that year and purchased these light switch covers at a furniture store called"Globe Furniture" if that helps anyone out there; Long since closed down.
