The escutcheon is black painted iron. When I lived Back East I worked on old houses and saved old hardware. Now I live in Nevada and it is time to get rid of my collections. This week and for the next few weeks I will be listing door hardware. I have not cleaned up these pieces. So they have some surface paint and dirt. They are, however in good working order except where noted. I have photographed the items against the background of pegboard with a one inch spoacing of holes, so you can estimate the dimensions of the items. Glass knobs measure 2 inches across. One has 1/8 inch chip on edge, nothing that takes away from the handle, I found it by feel. They both have a light yellowish tint, similar but not as dark as a canary diamond, that was very hard to photograph. I don't think it's because of age, but I am no expert. REDUCED PRICE!For auction are 2 solid brass doorknobs with 2 key entry and 2 backings. All pieces are solid brass. These Door knobs are not hollow.they are solid through and through. Taken off of doors from an old estate worked on. The doorknobs have signs of wear from use over the years. One knob is 2 1/8" wide and the smaller one is 2"wide. The circular backings are both 2 1/4"wide with 3 holes for screws. Screws are not here. The key entries are 1 1/4" and 3/4" wide. There are 2. One is smaller and does not go with these knobs but the larger one does go with this set. The smaller key entry is carved and may be hard to see in photos. Interesting lot of old doorknob rosettes escutcheons for your consideration. I am not sure of what there original use was for because of there smaller size. I am guessing they were an early doorknob application from entry doors in homes. They might have been an early furniture backplate as well. Could be used either way I suppose depending on your need. No manufacturing marks. There is a very small amount of original copper Jappanning still evident on a couple of these which I think were there original finish. There are ten in this lot measuring an unusual smaller size at 1 1/2 inches across. Center holes are 3/8 of an inch. large enough for a standard 1/4 inch mortise driverod. These are in very nice condition. All the seating cleats are intact with no break or cracks. These would work nicely on cabinet or furniture resoration as well. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair Antique Colonial Brass Pocket Door Pulls. Antique. Colonial style, pocket door pulls made around the turn of the previous century. They are made of solid, stamped/pressed brass, not plated iron/steel. At the point of salvage. The pulls were found dirty, lacquered, and heavily tarnished. Since then, we've cleaned them leaving some of the tarnish behind to preserve their aged look. The pull on the left side in the first photo has some deep scratches on the right side. Just outside of the recessed(cup) area. There is also a tiny dent that you could spot along the right edge, about 1" below the scratched area. The keyhole area of the same pull also has a few small dings around it-the previous owner obviously didn't have good aim with a key, or didn't see too well. However, these are not terribly ... moreobvious flaws, and you'll be more impressed by the cool, overall look of the pull than to notice such subtle imperfections. Antique Mortise Lock for French Doors
This is an antique mortise lock set that works. One side has a lever and the other side has a knob. The lock was manufactured by the Norwalk Lock Company of Norwalk Connecticut. From what I can guess. The lock was likely manufactured in the late 1800s, but there is no markings to indicate the time of manufacture. Mortise size: 3"x1 3/4" x 9/16" Cover plate: 1 3/8" x 4 11/16.

Penn Antique Restoration. 2 avail. Vintage Art Deco Door Set Glass Knobs Plate Lock Key. Lovely. Vintage lockset made around the turn of the previous century. Each set consists of 2 glass knobs, 2 stamped iron escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with 1 working key, 1 steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 setscrews. The majority of the brass plating wore away over the years leaving the surfaces of the parts with a nice, distressed finish. At the point of salvage. All parts were painted, dirty, and unevenly tarnished(see last photo) Since then, we've removed the paint, and cleaned and polished all parts. The set includes 2 bronze knobs, 1 large bronze escutcheon with swinging keyhole cover, 1 bronze rosette, 1 bronze keyhole cover, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 working key, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 2 set screws. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, cast bronze. At the point of salvage all parts were dirty. You could tell that the hardware came from a well-maintained home because the set is in great shape! The parts have nicks and scratches. The buttons controlled a function. Which disabled/enabled the knobs to turn. With the knobs unable to turn, the upper latch remains extended, in the locked position. In essence, both latches would act as deadbolts and provide extra security. Once the knobs are frozen, and the door is shut, the only way to retract the upper latch is by using the key for the top keyhole. I'm certain that whoever removed the buttons, didn't have the key for the top keyhole and he/she had to force the door open in order to push the button, to enable the knobs to turn. If this were my set, I would remove the buttons as well, and this is not only because I'm a parent of a young child who couldn't help himself from playing with the buttons; but accidents do happen. Offered for sale is a classic original CARPENTER LOCK with ORIGINAL STRIKER circa 1820S patented in England by John Carpenter in 1820. This lock is a classic example of Carpenter style locks popular in the early half of the 19th century. The box itself measures 5"x8" and the striker is 1 1/2" wide. The lock thickness is 1" see penny for scale) and surface mounts on a door. Locks with the"Carpenter" seal(with the"Carpenter" touch mark and crown) rather than made by a licensed maker are hard to find. And with their original striker even rarer. Hot Cold Waste white porcelain bathroom faucet knobs 1930s Germany w/ hardware
These are beautiful German knobs with nickle screws. Collars, porcelain collars and brass hardware. The knobs are 3" across and with perfect writing and no wear. The porcelain collars are 3" across and 2" deep and are stamped Germany on the inside. The bolt and the brass hardware has some wrench marks but I think are still usable. There is no damage to the porcelain. If you don't want the hardware just say so andI will reduce the shipping. Buyer pays shipping.
