VINTAGE SWIRLED BROWN GRANITE OR MARBLE( DOOR KNOBS 5.5" end to end The unique knobs measure 2.25" across. I tried to get good pictures of the pattern and there is one spot of black in each end swirled into the pattern. The rusting is not bad. See pictures. There is some lettering on the bar that holds them but I am unable to read it. Unknown maker or year of manufacture. Great knobs for a restoration project. The condition of each knob is good. Pairpoint Controlled Bubble Antique Glass Door Knobs, Roses and Latch Hardware
Please see pictures and note that one doorknob is perfect. The other is broken off flush with the brass mounting ring. This auction is for the complete set of door hardware. Included is the latch set and solid brass roses(very thick, nice and heavy) and all screws that held the hardware in place. The knobs are screwed to the spindle and held by two set screws on each knob collar. All of these parts are extremely well made, and the unbroken knob is just beautiful. Antique thumb latch door handles wrought iron large lot hand made
Up for bids is a great lot of old thumb latch type door handles from an old estate. The smaller ones measure about 6 1/2" long. Hammer marks are visible on the back sides of the mounting plates. Antique Vintage Glass Door Knob with Brass and shaft Turn of the Century
1900's turn of the century poured glass door knobs. 2 1/2" across. One is white brass, the other is gold brass. These were pulled from a door to a home built in the late 1890's. Vintage Lot of Interior Glass Doorknob Complete Sets. Up for consideration is this vintage lot of 6 interior doorknob sets. Complete. With Backplates and interior latch mechanisms. I am rehabbing an old 1930's home. And I just took these off the old doors last night. I have all the flat head screws as well and they will ship with the knobs. I also have all the short flat stubby screws that are used to tighten the glass knobs in place, They are all there as well. There is old white trim paint on all these knobs and Backplates. I am not an expert in. Metals. So therefore I did not try to remove any of this paint, for fear I might hurt the Brass original finish on them. Please note. There is not a lot of white paint all over these pieces. Just around the Plate edges and underside of the glass knobs. From lazy trim painting is all. The glass ... moreknobs measure approx. 2" in diameter. By 1-1/4" deep. The Backplates are. 6" long. By 1-5/8" wide at the top, down to 5/8" at the rounded pointed bottom. The brass striker plate. That is attached to the black box is 5-3/8" long, by 5/8" wide. The black box mechanism is 3-3/8" long. By 3-5/8" wide, and 1/2" thick. Each complete unit weighs 1 lb. 15 oz. 51 pc. lot of antique cast iron & brass lever knobs, latches, eschuteons for?
I really don't know what this lot of antique specialize latch pieces is for or from. There are 7 long turn rods or doorknob shafts with brass lever ends. 6 little brass eschuteons, 16 spring loaded cast iron latch mechanisms that the rods go through and operate the latch, 6 flat pieces or iron with kind of one sided arrow end or catches and two holes in the other end that I don't even know if they belong or go with the rest of the stuff but all came together, and 16 flat iron bars 7-1/4" long with 3 mounting holes and 4 rectangular openings that receive the spring loaded latches. I assume the 4 holes allow for some kind of adjustment. Bars are approx. 1/2" wide. The cast iron shafts attached to the brass lever handles are approx. 6-1/2" so must have to reach quite a distance. Maybe something like wood file cabinet drawer ... morelocks or similar. Only markings I can see is a number impressed in the side of iron spring latches but it is hard to read all the numerals. Look at photos and figure out what all this is for. A specialized application I imagine but if you need them, probably pretty hard to find. Some surface rust on iron as expected but nothing bad and look to be fully functional, whatever that function is. Makes a pretty heavy box so cheapest shipping will by by medium flat rate Priority. Vintage ornate steel door plates and knobs set.
Another handsome unusual set of ornate. Vintage door plates by Peterboro, well-known for their quality castings, with heavy, bold detailing and fancy bordered keyholes. Very faint copper wash is evident. You won't see many of these around; it's the only set I've seen like this in years. Plates measure 7 3/8 x 2.25" Unmatched set of vintage steel knobs, but installed on opposite sides of the door, no one will notice. One knob is very heavy casting with bold detailing and swirls on the underside. The other a little lighter weight. All in very good condition for their age and use, with no dings or scratches apparant.

It appears they were originally black and have been covered with both paint and varnish some of which has chipped off. Comes with the screws. Antique Victorian Yale Solid Brass Swirl Door Set Oval Beaded Plates/Knobs/Lock. The door knobs on this set are round and without beaded edge. This magnificent set is by Yale and Towne with oval plates 7" x 2 1/2" with brass knobs measuring 1 3/4" nd steel lock(original to set) meas 5 1/2" x 1" What makes this set so unusual and highly desirable is that although solid cast brass plates and knobs. There is still quite abit of the original copper plate over the brass remaining. With the remaining copper plate and the underlying brass this combination leaves what is called a"swirl" finish which is rare and quite beautiful as a patina. The pieces are not lacquered or varnished and though polished to a higher luster they will oxidize to a dark patina or can be kept in desired luster with light hand polish. A set of two door knobs vintage brass beaded oval knobs with the shaft. The shaft goes to three sizes. The knob is 2 1/2" wide and the shaft goes from 2 3/4" to 2 3/4" in width.
