Up for auction is a Very Fine and Rare Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved Mythical Turtle Form Scholars Water Pot Bowl. The figure has a great and very unique design and I have never seen another example like this. I believe by the very fine carved qualities this piece was carved in the 18th to 19th century period. The water pot is carved of a beautiful hu of natural white jade that has a beautiful light yellowish caramel color throughout the stone. The pot came from the estate displayed on this antique wood stand that will be included with it. The figure is in excellent original condition with no damage. The figure measures 3 1/4 inches long. By 2 inches wide, and 2 inches tall by itself, and 2 3/4 inches tall including the stand. This piece would make a great and very unique addition

The box is superbly hand painted with Imperial figures landscape. The box also has its original interior that is also superbly done with figural interior scene. I am told this box was made to hold and protect precious silk objects. And that hardly any are known to still exist today. The box shows its early age with a shrinkage crack to the lid, small losses and wear throughout. However the box still displays beautifully as it is and could be restored if one desired.
