They have a nice shine except for the tops of each jar and part of the bottoms. They seem to be hand painted. The bottoms have a double circle and not other markings. Both are 9 inches tall. One is almost 4 1/2 lbs. Other about 3 1/2 lbs. These make a wonderful centerpiece or entry table piece. ANTIQUE Pair of PEWTER Chinese WEDDING Ginger Jars
RARE FIND. Antique PEWTER. CHINESE Wedding. GINGER JARS. We have recently found this pair of PEWTER GINGER JARS that were'MADE in CHINA' which are the type that the Chinese use at their weddings. They fill them with special candies and goodies for their guests. The jars are in good condition. But do have a couple of dents. One of the jars has some discoloration. The jars are beautifully engraved and have a red stone set in the top of the lid. The bottoms are marked"Made in China" so they were produced around 1913. We have taken several pictures for you to look at and judge this pair for yourself. Each jar measures 3" across the base, 4" across the widest part, 3 1/4" across the rim of the jar and is 7 1/2" tall. They weigh just over 4 lb. We are proud to offer TWO very nice and large Chinese ginger jars. They have excellent paint and craqueleure. This is not our area of expertise. So please don't hesitate to ask any questions and study photos carefully. Both were acquired together and appear to be from the same period and region. One of them is marked on the bottom. While the second is not. Paint is excellent throughout and shows some signs of wear. Conditions of the jars is also very good and sturdy. One has an indentation in the base rim. Which might be an imperfection from manufacturing of a fairly old chip. It does not affect its stability. No cracks to either, other than the indicated surface enamel cracqueluere. This listing is for an antique Cloisonne BOWL Vase with a PAIR of matching Ginger Jars. This item was recently purchased from an estate. I was told that they were bought in China. Sometime in the early to mid 1900's, and the lable on the larger piece does state"Made in China" SPECIFICATIONS: This is a USED/PRE-OWNED Item Material: Cloisonne Enamel over metal. There are no marks that I can find on the outside. Interiors have usual pock marks as shown in photos. The Vase measures approximately 5" tall and 8" in diameter at it's widest area. The Ginger Jars have the wooden pedestal bases and Measure approximately 6 1/8" tall(on the base) and approximately 4 1/2" in diameter at their widest area. I did not take a jeweler's Loupe to the items, so there may be some small scratches, scuffs, dings, wear and ... moreimperfections in some areas, as well as some small holes/pitting etc. as you expect to find on vintage cloisonne items-please see images. Please note the items were photographed under multiple spot lights, so there are several reflection, hot spots on the photos. This is a pair of fantastic looking antique Chinese cloisonné ginger jars with intricate Brass Inlay. Both are 10.5" tall. Each jar(with lid) weighs 3.2 LB. There is a little wear on the insides of the jars. Especially inside the lids(pictured) but they look great and the exteriors are in really good shape. Yellow, pink, green, blue, and outlined in gold. This covered jar with raised enameling has a cover decorated in a floral design. This spectacular specimen measures approx. 14" tall, 9" in diameter, weighs 7.3 Lbs and, I believe, dates to the 1930s or before. The jar is in excellent condition with the exception of some scraches on the paint specialy on the top, and what appears to be a glazed.

Up for auction is a pair of late 19th century(1850-1890) green glazed ginger jars. Both jars are in good condition and were traditionally made to house a burial gift of rice or water as an offering to a departed loved one. The earthenware ceramic and glaze application combine to create a rustic look. Both are hexagon-shaped. With each panel bearing images of plants, flowers, or fruit. They probably each had a lid which fit over the lip of the opening at one point. First Jar(see pictures) is 3-3/4" tall, 4" in diameter, and the mouth is 1-3/4" across. Second Jar is 3-5/8" tall and 4" wide, the mouth has a diameter of 1-3/4" There is a small chip on the lip of the mouth, but overall in good condition considering its' age.
