Decorated with iron red bats, and bearing the underglaze blue Guangxu(1875 to 1908) reign mark of the period. Antique Chinese vase with certificate, Tongzhi period, succeeded by Guangxu
The current owner bought dozens of this kind of vases in Hongkong in late 80s' And stored them in Palm Spring, California since. Each vase comes with the original certificate. Number sticker and china customs wax, they are all stored in the original box as you can see on the picture. It is very rare that they come with these. And they have great potential in future. Height: 24 inches As you can see on the certificate. It was made during Tongzhi reign, very nice tune of black&white, intricate painting. The shape of its rim is very rare and there are even 3 bamboos on it. The photos do not do it justice and it would look great after some sort of cleaning!

The item may be in the guangxu period. But not entirely sure. The dimesions of the ring holder is as follows, 27mm = height of cup holder. 109mm = diameter across the outer rim to outer rim The item does have a small crack in the porcelain but is not that visible unless you look at it closely. EARLY 20C CHINESE VASE - Guangxu period 1875-1908 Deer handles
The Chinese characters on the bottom of the case mean the year it was made. You need to read from top to bottom. From the right colomn to the left as this is how ancient Chinese was written. The first two characters(大清) on the right means Qing Dynasty. If you are farmiliar with the history of China, Qing was the the last imperial dynasty of China. The next two characters, the bottom one on the right and the top one on the left(光绪) is the name of one of the emperors of that dynasty, Kuang-hsu, who reigned from 1875 to 1908. The fifth character(年) means the year and the last character(制) means"made in" So the whole can be translated as"made in the years of Kuang-hsu in Qing Dynasty" This vase is damaged as seen from the photos the antler is broken in 2 places the tip is gone and a lower peice has been glued on. Ive seen ... moresimilar vases but the vases ive seen have to antlers attached to the vase these are not touching the vase. Also this is a two tone glaze the white at the top whick slowly fades into red. Although it is damaged this is still a nice piece. The bottom has a 6 character chinese mark while other similar vases do not.

The vase has a neatly hand written Guangxu six-character mark to the base. The cup shows some light wear mainly to the upper gold gilt rim. But is overall in very fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Cup displays beautifully measuring 2 5/8 inches tall, by 3 3/8 inches wide. As you can see I found an identical pair that sold last year at Christies for just over 18,000USD. ANTIQUE CHINESE GILT FAMILLE ROSE IMPERIAL 100 BAT VASE - GUANGXU MARK & PERIOD
We are very proud to offer a Guangxu Period 100 Bat Vase. The design of 100 bats amongst clouds was particularly popular during the Guangxu Reign. And as such can be found on vases and other vessels of varying forms. Most often, this design is painted in the famille rose color palette. Very rarely do we see the design painted in varying shades of coral as we do with this vase. The chosen decoration of bats points us towards a possible meaning of this vase. The Chinese word for"bat" is"fu" which happens to be a homophone for"prosperity and good fortune" The pattern can be interpreted as an auspicious wish of"vast happiness piled up to the sky" This vase comes to us from the collection of a prominent New England collector who acquired it from Marvin Sadik Fine Arts in the 1960s. Marvin Sadik eventually ... morebecame the curator of the National Portrait Gallery and hobnobbed with the likes of Martin Luther Ling and Lady Johnson. Similar vases have sold at major auction houses such as Christie's for upwards of $43.000 and are surely only going to become more valuable as genuine Chinese antiques become harder to buy. The vase measures 39 cm tall. The vase is in very good condition with wear to the enamel and gilding. This wear appears genuine is consistent with examples that have sold at Christie's.
