Beautiful Chinese Republic Period Yellow Ground Famille Rose Figural Wall Vase
This beautiful Yellow Ground Porcelain Chinese Wall Vase measures about 7-3/4" tall x 5.5" wide. And 3.25" deep. It is beautifully painted on the front a pretty girl under a tree. The reverse has hand written calligraphy enamel painted to the surface. The bottom is marked with what i believe to be an earlier Zhong Guo Porcelain mark dating somewhere to around 1950-60. While bearing the Made in China Mark. The Chinese is still written from right to left. The vase has a fair amount of crazing to it and many spots have been stained. The yellow ground also has two minute flea bites to the surface. One on a corner. The other on the front about a half inch below the figural painting.

Bamboo, and butterflies surrounded by a yellow sgraffito incised ground decorated with flowers. On the bottom of the vase is a four character Qinglong mark in iron red. The vase measures 9 inches in height or about 22.9 centimeters and is in excellent condition with just a small flake on the inside rim restored to an exceptionally high standard, completely invisible. Soiling, or minor dents. There is no major damage to this vase. I did not notice any dents to the body of the vase, and minor(my opinion) dents to the bronze rims. LARGE GUANGXU MARKED CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE YELLOW GROUND GINGER JAR BATS & FRUIT
This is a very impressive old Chinese Famille Rose Yellow Ground Ginger Jar. Decorated with bats, fruit, and Chinese symbols of good luck. The piece is quite large, it measures 9 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" across, and the lid measures 4 3/4" in diameter. The footing is 4 1/2" across. The piece weighs an impressive 4.7 pounds. The underside is marked with the iron-red Guangxu mark(1875-1908) but I have no idea if it is of this period or a later 20th century piece. It does look like is has age, and is not new. Beautifully painted. There is only one tiny fleabite on the edge of the lid edge.nothing major, no cracks or restorations. I love the colors. just beautiful! You will love it!

A large pair of Chinese yellow ground bottle vases CA 1900 Chinese Porcelain
Decorated over the glaze in white slip with birds flying amongst flowering trees. The bases with six character blue seal marks. Condition is very good. Yellow glaze/enamel was first used on Cizhou pottery during the Northern Song dynasty together with red and green. The enamel was probably created by a low concentration of iron oxide in a lead solution i.e. the same as was used to create the yellow to amber colors in the Tang sancai glazes. Iron yellow becomes a staple enamel from early Ming and onwards. The yellow colour was also intrinsically linked to the Emperor. For example the imperial yellow jacket was a symbol of high honour during China's Qing Dynasty. As yellow was a forbidden color. Representing the Emperor, the jacket was given only to high-ranking officials and to the Emperor's body guards. So were yellow ceramics too, ... moreand were usually made for high ranking officials.
