Modeled after Zhou and ... moreShang Dynasty examples. The vessel is raised on a square base with a large bulbous body and a C-scroll chilong handle. The piece has two registers of geometric designs, with one prominently featuring the"star and whorl" pattern amongst an interlocking background of a greek key. The patina is a mottled black with areas of reddish brown and malachite. Rarely are Yi vessels found on a rectangular platform and not on legs. Given the shape and other features of the piece, it dates from the Song to Early Ming Dynasties. Please note the patches on the side of the body- these are marks that developed over hundreds of years from being in close proximity to a fabric or from soil encrustations that are no longer present. The Yi measures 7.125 inches tall by 11 inches long by 4 inches wide and is in very fine condition. Please note that there is a verbal history of the piece being acquired at Sotheby's from a prominent estate when they had their Chicago location. No documentation exists to accompany the piece. I have not handled anything quite like this piece. But from what I am ... moretold it would date to the later Song to earlier Ming Dynasty period. The way the footrim is done and its thickness is very similar to Song and early Ming examples I have handled, so I do believe it to also be an early example. The charger shows its age with wear and crazing throughout the glaze. However for its large size and early age the charger is overall in substantially good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Charger is one of the largest size examples I have seen as well measuring 15 1/4 inches across and 3 1/8 inches deep. It would be well worth looking into the Charger and what its specific age and value would be. The Vase is a very interesting and I believe rarely seen piece. The Vase conservatively dates to the Ming Dynasty. If not possibly even a Yuan dynasty piece. The Vase has a very unique design with black Cizhou décor, on an apple green glaze. The Vase has a couple small chips to the top neck repaired in red lacquer that was an old and respectable method of repairing early examples like this. But overall for its very early age the vase is in substantially fine original condition with no other chips, cracks, or repairs. I believe examples like this do not come up for auction often, mostly being offered with No Reserves. It would be well worth looking into the vases current vase. Abraham was a highly respected Asian Arts dealer and collector in the 1950-70’ s period and frequently travelled to China. Hong Kong, New York, and London on buying trips at the time. The Percival collection is considered one of the most important collections of Chinese art to exist. A large portion of this collection is presently on loan to the British museum. From what I have read during the fall of the Qing Empire Sir David Percival was in close contact with many imperial officials that controlled a vast amount of important imperial examples in the palace collection that he purchased from them at the time. I am told this example would be worth many thousands of dollars if in better condition so I believe it should still be a desirable find, and could be restored if desired. The small celadon bowl, and qingbai dish also have rim hairlines. The pieces are otherwise in fine original condition. Up for auction is a Very Rare Chinese Carved Yellow Jade Mouse Figure. The figure is a very interesting and authentic early example. The mouse figure was documented in the collection as being a Song dynasty example but to be safe for the auction I am selling it as a Song to Ming dynasty piece. The mouse figure is carved of a beautiful hu of rare natural yellow jade. The jade has a beautiful softness to the carving from being handled for many decades. The mouse is simply carved throughout which is consistent with Song dynasty examples. The mouse also has a hole through the center that is square carved instead of round. Which I have not seen before and may also be an indication of an earlier piece. The mouse is in very fine original condition with no damage. The mouse is a great

The vase is a fine and very interesting example done is a beautiful ding white glaze. This vase has very good provenance being purchased from Ralph Chait Galleries in New York around 60 years ago. Ralph Chait has been dealing in high-end Asian arts for upwards of 100 years and this gallery is considered one of the finest and most well respected galleries in the world. So you could not ask for better provenance. Ralph Chait dated this vase on the base label as being a Ming Dynasty example. In my opinion this dating is quite conservative and I believe there is a chance this vase could even date to the late Song to Yuan dynasty. The vase shows its age with some crazing to the glaze that could possibly be cleaned if one desired. Overall for its early age this vase is in very fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This vase has also been closely inspected under UV light, which reveals no damage or restorations of any kind throughout. The pieces are all fine early examples that would date from the Song to Ming dynasty period. The lot included a large longquan celadon carved lotus charger plate. Two carved lotus celadon bowls, and a Junyao glazed dish. The smallest lotus bowl is in good condition. The other pieces have restoration or damage which is why they have been loted but they are still fine period study examples that are hard to find today. The Vase is a Fine and Authentic early example that would date very conservatively to the Ming Dynasty period. If not earlier. As you can see this is also a signed example and it is well worth looking into the marks. The Vase is finely carved throughout with interesting Chinese archaic mask designs. The Vase also has a fine early Chinese hu form with side handles. The Vase has a rich and old undisturbed dark bronze patina throughout. I have taken some pictures of the base outside so you could also see the fine details and hand tooling to the base. The Vase shows wear and light marks throughout as should be found on an early example, and is overall in very fine original condition with no damage or repairs. The Vase displays very nicely measuring 10 inches tall, by 5 3/4 inches wide. You rarely see legitimate early signed examples like this come up for auction. This painting is part of a large estate collection that includes many antique paintings. I know little about the paintings and cannot read the seal marks. The people were very wealthy and during the mid 20th century purchased a large amount of Chinese art I am told some for substantial amounts. It is well worth taking some time to look into the paintings listed. The painting appears to be very early example that I am told would date from the Song to Ming dynasty. The painting. Scroll, and box show wear small losses and imperfections consummate with early age. The silk painting itself measures 49 3/8 inches long by 23 inches wide. The scroll measures 80 3/4 inches long by 27 5/8 inches wide. The box measures 31 inches long, by 3 1/4 inches wide, and sits 3 1/4 inches tall. PLEAS
