This Antique Hand Painted Chinese baluster vase is in good condition and is quite large at over 8" and 7" in diameter. Nice clear marks on the base and two beautifully painted panels. I do not know a great deal about the bowl and I have not seen another example like this. The Bowl is superbly hand painted with Imperial qualities throughout. The Bowl has an interested flared out upper with vibrant and richly enamel famille rose and imperial yellow qilin dragons. The exterior of the bowl is painted with 8 Buddhist symbols. The Bowl has a hand painted Jiaqing mark to the base. I was told the bowl was most likely produced in the earlier 1900s Chinese republic period at the Jingdezhen imperial kilns. And by the superb quality most definitely by an imperial schooled artist. The Bowl is in very fine original condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The Bowl displays beautifully measuring 5 3/8 inches wide, by 2 ½ inches tall. The Bowl is by far one of the finest examples I have personally seen. Provenance: This Bowl along with many of the other items listed are from the estate of a prominent family. The Family owned large amounts of land in Hong Kong in the earlier 1900s period which in turn made them extremely wealthy. The Family travelled extensively and has mansions all over the world. One of their main residence is here in Toronto

The Bowl is superbly and intricately hand painted throughout with very interesting precious objects scenic medallions. I have not seen another example quite like this. The Bowl is one of the finest quality examples I have personally seen with superb Imperial qualities throughout. The Bowl is also richly enamelled with a beautiful and vibrant yellow enamel with famille rose scrolling lotus. The interior is also superbly hand painted with a nice scenic design. The Bowl is superbly and thinly potted of a pure white highly translucent porcelain. The Bowl has a finely carved and formed footrim. Along with a neatly written Daoguang period mark. The Bowl has one small chip to the upper rim and some very small yellow enamel losses which could be restored very easily if one desired. The Bowl is otherwise in fine original condition. The Bowl is part of a very fine collection of bowls from the estate collection. I was told the bowls have been in the family since the earlier 1900s period. It is decorated with colorful designs including flowers. Lingzhi fungus, and two character scenes, nicely done on an imperial yellow background. It is dates from the late 18th Century to the early 19th Century and measures approximately 8 + ½ inches in tall, 2 + 5/8 inches across the mouth, and 2 + 3/8 inches across the foot rim. It is of high quality and is in excellent condition with the exception of minor crazing/ age lines on the enamel, a small contact mark on the neck, and near the foot rim. The Plate is a fine and rarely seen example that would have been produced right around the Chinese Hongxian reign within the Beijing Imperial kilns. The Plate is superbly hand painted throughout with an interesting imperial boys with dragon cart landscape scene. The Plate also has a rich imperial yellow enamel rim with butterflies and good luck symbols. The Plate has a neatly hand written four character mark that has been used from the 18th century on imperial examples usually with boys subject like this. The Mark reads“Lin Zhi Cheng Xiang” Or“The Kylin’ s Foot Brings great Luck” There have been a number of very similar examples that have sold through the higher-end auction houses with this mark and very similar subject. The Plate shows some light wear and some glaze imperfections but is overall in fine original condition with no chips. Cracks, or repairs. The Plate is a nice large size example that displays very nicely measuring 9 1/2 inches wide, by 1 3/4 inches tall. I was told the Seats would date to the earlier 19th century Chinese Jiaqing or Daoguang era. But to be safe I am just selling them as Qing Dynasty pieces(1640-1911 era) and will let you decide their exact age for yourself. Listed this week is a large and important estate collection of Chinese Jades and Scholarly Objects. The items listed are from important estate collections including the collection of A. Abraham. If you follow my auctions you will know I have sold a number of important examples from this collection over the past couple months this being the last portion of this amazing collection. Abraham was a highly respected Asian Arts dealer and collector in the 1950-70’ s period and frequently travelled to China. Hong Kong, New York, and London on buying trips at the time. Abraham owned the Imperial Jade shop located in the famous King Edward Hotel in Toronto until his retirement ... morein the year 1976, 37 years ago. When the shop closed many of the pieces were sent to Sotheby’ s in New York for auction. Abraham kept some of his most favorite examples including many of the items listed. Most of the pieces have been in storage since the shop closed in 1976 and have not seen the light of day until now. We are told some items currently listed are also from the highly important Sir David Percival Chinese art collection. You will find one jade hair ornament listed with an original label from this collection and there are more examples also coming up. The Percival collection is considered one of the most important collections of Chinese art to exist. A large portion of this collection is presently on loan to the British museum. From what I have read during the fall of the Qing Empire Sir David Percival was in close contact with many imperial officials that controlled a vast amount of important imperial examples in the palace collection that he purchased from them at the time. The Vase has a nice period bottle form. The Vase has a rich and vibrant imperial yellow glaze, along with famille verte and aubergine glaze designs. As you can see there is an orange line to the vase body. At first I thought this to be on old repair but upon close inspection and also studying the line under UV black light it appears to be an original imperfection to the glaze that could be restored if one desired. The vase is otherwise in fine condition with no chips, cracks, or other imperfections. The Vase is a large size period example and is an impressive display piece measuring 8 3/4 inches wide, by 17 inches tall. I have been told similar examples to this have sold in the 20-30,000 dollar range when offered at the higher end sales. So although the vase does have the side glaze imperfection I believe it should still be a very desirable find and something that is not seen often. HUGE PAIR CHINESE IMPERIAL YELLOW CLOISONNE LIDDED VASE URN W WOOD STANDS 15"
For auction is presented a huge pair of Chinese Imperial yellow cloisonne lidded vases or urns with a multitude of colors depicting foo lions to front and back along with lion head side handles with jump rings in a massive size of 15" High x 11" in Width standing on large hardwood display stands. These vases were produced in China during the 1970s to the 1980s and were exported here to the USA during that time. Each lidded vase or urn has a overall ground of yellow with the front and rear reserves being a beautiful sky blue on each with foo lions of different colors and poses and each vase even though were made as a pair are different in a number of ways with the basic design the same but the colors have been altered for each to give much more interest. I have counted over 40 different colors between both vases making up many scrolling ... morevines. Leaves, lotus flowers, buds, several types of Foo Lions as well as fire symbols, ribboned balls along with reserves of flowering fruit trees and so much more. The exposed metal surfaces such as the top and foot rims, top pointed finial as well as the highly detailed pairs of lion head side handles with jump rings are like a bright gilted bronze. The underside also has a bright yellow ground with a fine wire inlaid lotus flower and tendrils and the inside of both cover and main body is a medium blue enamel and the hardwood stands are original to the vases and are of a nice reddish brown color. Condition of the vases are excellent with no chips, dents, losses or repairs only having the normal occurring production flaws such as tiny air bubbles and some colors running a bit over their wired boundaries but again these are very accepted especially on the amount of surface area that is here and the stands are both good but have an area to each top side that appears to have had a split repaired due to climatic changes otherwise both vases and stands are very impressive pieces. The dishes have a beautiful design with famille rose lotus landscape and rich imperial yellow enamel ground. The yellow enamel work is also intricately carved throughout with scrolling lotus designs. The dishes have very finely hand painted blue enamel Qianlong marks to the backsides. The dishes are finely and thinly potted of highly translucent white porcelain. I am told by the superb qualities the dishes would have been made within the Jingdezhen imperial kilns in the 18th to 19th century period. The one dish has a light 1 1/4 inch hairline to the rim that can only be seen from the backside. The dishes are otherwise in very fine original condition with no other cracks. Chips, or repairs. Antique hand made cloisonne intricate figural item(pair) from the late 1800's or early 1900's on bronze. Two Imperial Yellow 5-toed scaly dragons are chasing flaming pearls in heaven surrounded by crinkly clouds. Flowers of white, blush, red, blue, green and cobalt. Tobacco leaves, fuschia flowers, prunus and scrolls, and clouds, enhance this excellent execution of fine Asian art with a high degree of skill; later productions do not show these high marks of quality. These very old and very fine vases have subtle wear seen with a 10times magnification. A small dragon beard indentation and a couple of other indentations are shown in the photographs here. The Vase is a truly superb and astonishing example. The vase is superbly and very intricately hand painted throughout with some of the most vibrant and rich enamel colors I have personally ever seen. The vase is a fine and authentic antique example that I am told would date from the later Qianlong to earlier 19th century. Most likely being a mark& period example. The vase also has superbly detailed blue enamel elephant mask side handles. The vase also has rich turquoise enamel to the interior and base. The vase has a few small glaze frets to the top rim and a couple very tiny glaze frets to the one side handle that could be easily restored if one desired. Overall for its age this vase is in substantially fine original condition with no other chips, cracks, or repairs. This vase has also been closely inspected under UV black light which reveals no restorations or damage of any kind. So you can rest assured and bid with confidence knowing this vase has never had any restoration. This

She said it is Chinese and very old(she did have a lovely Yuan/Ming jade belt plaque which is being sold at auction on April 30th by Mallams in Cheltenham, England) I only rediscovered this vase today when clearing out the house ready for a move. She said the flowers are Chinese quince and the colour imperial yellow. It measures about 6" 15.4cm) high with no chips or cracks(excellent condition- please see images) I have no idea of the age but my grandma who was 103 when she died two year ago told me it belonged to her mother.
