Stained Glass Transom Window Panel - Rare Glassmasters Coast Guard Insert
This panel was made using the traditional Tiffany copper foil method. The centerpiece of this piece is a rare glassmasters Coast Guard panel that has a band of gold going around it. The background glass is a white opal waterglass that has a blue hammered band and a red cathedral band that mimicks the coast guard insignia. The solder lines are silver as is the zinc. These slides were used to close or hold open windows. That were over doors in old buildings like schools, offices, banks. Windows would open by slide and locked in place by lock on bar. Made of brass, the bar is solid brass not hollow. Bar is 12 1/2" long, the brackets are 2 1/8" long and 3/4" wide, lock extends upward about 1 1/2" In good condition. This is a used Complete Victorian Window Transom with operating hardware. only missing the screws to mount. The Transom bracket or lift opener is 36" long. Has all the hardware or brackets. all steel. all in working order. Has 2 brackets for sliding the lift opener up and down. 1 bracket to attach to window for opening. This has a steel tab which hooks in the slid opener rod. hinged rod attached secure and works fine. has the 2 finger release clamp in working order. still has tension. rod slides through the clamp. the bottom of lift opening rod has the flat finger hold for opening. All of these parts are steel and in working order. all are painted white and a few layers. the window has both hinges. the half side of hinge is 1" x 2 1/2" long. both work and have the original pins. These are also steel. The window has the old ... morebubbles in it. no cracks or bad spots.See The wood frame is pine I believe. Solid frame. see no rot or damage. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It has a clear distorted background and nice colors. There are no cracks or breaks. It is in the original frame which is in good shape and is painted on both sides. It measures 34 inches wide by 16 tall. It is 1.75 inches thick. The glass only measures approx. 30 x 12. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The glazing putty needs filled in around the edges. Awesome 4 foot Victorian Half Round Stained Glass Rising Sun Transom Window
Selling this for a friend who's Victorian home was lost to fire. It was the over front door window and needs to be cleaned. This was furthest from the fire and still in very sturdy shape. It does have a few cracks in it. It was supposedly made in the 50's to match the round window from 1895 that I had listed. It would be expensive to ship and it is fragile.Though I can ship if needed but I prefer free pick up or for a fee I could hand deliver within 100 miles. FYI it does still smell like smoke but with a quick cleaning and repaint on the window frame it should be absolutely fine. Mount in your house or would make a stunning wall hanger.The soot just washes away easily.

7.00Antique OAK 3 PART WOOD POLE - transom window or map puller
This is a useful. Screw together solid wood/ oak I believe/ 39" long pole/ stick when all 3 pieces together. The top and bottom can be screwed together as well to make a shorter pole. It is used on old transom windows that did not lock but had a hook type latch to raise and lower; some say it was also used to pull large maps down in old school rooms when the ceilings were typically 9' and higher. It looks like brass/copper wrapped around the wood stick on the ends that screw together. The solid brass loop shaped tip unscrews as well so it could be replaced with a hook for a different type of transom window. It is in as found condition. Estate item I've had for over 15 years just sitting. The wood appears in good shape, a few scratches but no cracks or breakage; no visible repairs I know of. My father had a hardware store from 1946 to 1983. When he closed it. He brought the merchandise to his house where it has been since. He recently passed away and it is now my task to sell this merchandise. For sale is 3 Brass plated cast iron-steel transom window pull catches. They are unused and appear very old. I have pictures of each one. The first one is in pretty good condition. 2 of them has poor finish especially on the pull. 3 also has poor finish and some rust on the pull. All handles return OK when pulled. Notice the casting on the tips of the pull. The catch measures 1-1/4" wide x 2-1/4" long x 1/2" high and 2-1/2" long from tip to end of hook and 1-1/4" high overall. The hook is about 5/16" thick. Art Deco Amber Slag Beveled Leaded Glass Door Transom Window Panel Pane Pair
Hello- These are a wonderful pair of antique. Vintage style windows. They are in great shape otherwise, and look almost as if they were never installed. One has one tiny chip in the corner, which could easily be caulked over. Also, the glasses have no caulking between the glass and the metal frames. All the glass should have a bead of clear caulk applied- in order to keep the glasses from rattling. The panes measure approx. 14 3/4" wide x 7 1/2" high. On each pane, one side is beveled and the other side is beveled. A great set!

Glass making was not perfected until around 1930. Before then a lot of glass. Especially glass made in to sheets had bubbles, waves, imperfections such as ridges or lines of separation when the glass was made. If you get a window that to you looks like a"crack" ... moreis in it, simply run your finger across the line on both sides to"feel" the glass, if one side is smooth and the other side has a ridge or bump, it's simply an imperfection in the way the glass was made.
