BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE FROSTED& STAINED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW W/3 JEWELS KY# 165 Size: Framed 16"w x 56.25"h X 1 3/8"d. Glass only 12" x 52" 20 lbs. This arts and craft era antique transom window boasts frosted, etched pattern glass and stained glass with a covered urn emblem. The frame is in very good condition and is painted on both sides. There is one pane with a crack and one pane with a BB hole as shown. There is some caulk loss. Very nice window ready to go. Please ask questions before bidding. Shipping is not free. ~ GREAT ANTIQUE AMERICAN STAINED GLASS WINDOWS JEWELS~
This are a double hung(top and bottom) set of stained glass window that were salvaged from a demolished PA home. The upper piece has a slag medallion with 4 fasceted green jewels and 2 creamy white circles in the corners. The rest of the window is set in a variety clear and distorted glass. The lower piece has a couple of creamy white half circles and the variation in clear and distorted glass continues from the upper to the lower piece. There are 2 pieces of border glass with cracks. Each is only 3/4 inch long and they are stable with no loss. The upper frame has a lower stile that has some seperation. Glue, screw and clamp to fix. It has no reinforcing bar on the back and if you shake the window(should'nt do that! it does have some movement. If hung and displayed, there will be no problems. The lower window does have reinforcing bars ... morebut the ties seperated and it does have a bow. If you wish, you can resolder the ties and it should be fine. The frames are painted white on one side, brown on the other. The set may need some attention but overall is in good condition for 120 year old windows. Overall measurements are appx 75 inches tall by 22 1/2 wide. The upper is 37 1/4 tall. Your bid buys the pair. If you have questions. Feel free to ask. Thanks for looking! Description This stained glass window was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Mansion. It has great colors and a fantastic design. There are 5 big roundel jewels and 3 smaller facet cut blue jewels. We have installed a brand new oak frame. The window measures 34-1/8" long. 32-1/8" high and is 1-1/2" deep. The glass itself measures 30" x 28" Overall. It is in very good condition. There are some hairlines. Scratches and dings contribute to the charm of the piece. Please review the photographs carefully. Some of the glass is a little bit loose in the cambing and tehre are a couple small chips. It's really in useable and good shape. It is sporting a new oak frame. It measures 24.5 inches wide. 25.25 inches tall and is 1.5 inches thick. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. At some point the knobs were removed and holes were patched. The then installed double action hinges to swing back and forth. Push bars were added at the same time as those hinges. Antique 1890's Victorian Stained Glass Window Sash with Jewels. The dimensions are 31 7/8" x 36" x 2 1/8" thick. This is a beautiful piece with beautiful decorative glass. And an aged painted black finish on one side and an aged painted maroon finish on the other. The glass and joints are absolutely beautiful and in great shape. The jewels are excellent, and the frame and is in great shape. The interior iron bracing rods with iron twists are still present. There is one small piece of stained glass that is out(I have the piece) and one small piece broken with a missing piece and a few glass pieces that have hairline cracks(see pictures) This is in Great condition with a beautiful old patina and are ready for display. A spectacular and extremely rare stained and painted glass window from the 1880’s made by the famous William Reith Stained Glass Studios. It is signed“Wm. Reith. Artist, Philadelphia, on the bottom right corner. The window came from the St. John Nepomucene church at the corner of 9th St. and Wharton St. in Philadelphia. It portrays a breathtaking, vivid scene of beautifully detailed Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus with another praying child at her feet. Mary is surrounded by multitude of blooming flowers at the base of barren hills that are topped with a single tree. The window has a rippled amber glass border with huge chunk“rock” glass jewels throughout. Description This is a beautiful antique door that was salvaged from a Victorian Mansion in Philadelphia. PA. These were the interior vestibule doors. Everything is made of pine and is painted. The doors have raised panels at the bottom and stained glass at the top. Each door panel has 35 jewels. Great design and nice colors. The fronts are very ornate with fluted pilasters beside the glass. There are shelves above and a shelf with beadwork below. The transom has a semi arched top and 26 jewels. The knobs and hinges will need to be replaced. They measure 48.5 inches wide. The door are 90 inches tall and the transom is just under 19 tall. They are 1.75 inches thick. Overall. ANTIQUE GILDED ERA LARGE STAINED GLASS WINDOW 161 JEWELS
Being sold to settle an estate and in the family for many years. This magnificent stained glass window was evaluated by Mike Lauterbach of Friar Tuck's Stained Glass, who is a Member of the Kansas Historical Society. Mr. Lauterbach's description of the window is as follows: This is a beautiful stained glass window. It has 161 hand-faceted jewels. It has about 2,000 pieces of glass. The lead is very dainty. There are 21.4 square feet to this window, which measures 79 inches X 39 inches plus the frame. The window was built in the gilded era, 1870 to the turn of the twentieth century. This was one of a pair that got separated I believe these would have gone into a dining area with an eastern exposure to glow in the morning sun or perhaps western exposure, perhaps explaining the subtle golden colors. Even the background is a light gold. ... moreThe design work is the most spectacular of any I have seen in 31 years of experience. The designer went a long way to get to the torch at the top and then make it fire. It resembles antique paper bills called Educational Series of Notes. The lead work on this window is so masterfully done it would be a shame to restore it. Even the rebars, and there are nine of them, are artfully done. There are some cracks and two pieces have gone missing from the background; but they can be matched with Kokomo Opalescent Glass, in business since 1888. I believe the color is#11LL. There is a slight bulge at the bottom of the urn; but this window has so many rebars it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I believe this window was made in St. Louis because I worked on a window about twenty years ago which included some red glass with the same texture that had crazed. Some glass is crazed but won't fall out. All in all this is certainly a one-of-a-kind piece that is part of our American history that needs to be displayed and appreciated. Antique Victorian Stained Glass Window- Circa 1890 Stair Landing Window Ornate with Jewels. The dimensions are 27 7/8" x 33" x 1 3/4" thick. This is a beautiful piece with beautiful decorative glass. All hardware intact and an aged painted black finish on one side and a stained finish on the other. The glass and joints are beautiful and in great shape. The jewels are excellent, and the frame and is in great shape. The interior iron bracing rods with iron twists are still present. There is one piece of glass missing. The lead around this piece is bent slightly outward, and there are some other small cracks(see pictures) but but overall the window is very nice. It is in the original frame which is in good shape and is panted on both sides. It is made of 1/4 sawn oak. It measures 48 inches wide by 16 inches tall. It is 2 inches thick. The glass only measures approx. 44 x 12. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The glazing putty needs touched up. HUGE ANTIQUE GILDED ERA STAINED GLASS WINDOW 161 JEWELS KANSAS CITY HISTORY
This magnificent window depicting a burning torch measures 79 inches by 39 inches. Contains 21.4 square feet of glass and 161 handcut jewels and was purchased as salvage from a Kansas City mansion in 1937. We were told the mansion was Elmhurst which was designed by reknowned architect Frederick E. Hall for John Perry, a coal magnate, and built in 1898 as a surprise for his wife and children who were in Europe and tragically lost at sea while returning to America on the French ship LaBurgoyne, having never seen the home. Mr. Perry sold the home and it was purchased a short time later by Joseph T. Bird, part owner of Emery Bird Thayer Dry Goods Company. The Bird family resided in the home until it was razed in 1937. This window contains about 2,000 pieces of glass and nine artfully installed rebars. The lead is very dainty. The entire piece ... moreis masterfully done. The colors are subtle golden shades. Two small pieces have gone missing from the background but can be matched with Kokomo Opalescent Glass, probably color#11LL. There is a slight bulge near the bottom which does not affect stability. This window is a one-of-a-kind piece that is part of our American history that needs to be displayed and appreciated. The window has been professionally packed for shipment by motor freight as pictured. It is surrounded by foam, crated in plywood and palleted. No international shipping, please. These 2 stained glass transoms are a matching pair. They measure 10' 2' long by 17 3/4' tall the top of the arch counting the wood frame. There are 17 jewels in each window.
