All ... moreof the border pieces are beveled. The frame is not antique. It can be hing either way. It measures 21.75 inches wide by 51.75 inches tall and is 1 inch thick. The glass only is approx. 18 x 48. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. ANTIQUE Leaded STAINED GLASS WINDOW in Original Wood Frame 1880's
This is a beautiful piece brought here by my parents from Holland. It is in its original wood frame and I stripped and repainted it brown over 35 years ago. It can easily be redone to whatever color you prefer. I secured a hook on the back so it can hang as a display piece. The size of the window without the frame is:27.5"x 18" With the frame 32 1/4"x 22.5" One of the rectangle amber pieces is cracked as you can see in the pictures. No glass missing though. Most of the lead is in good shape. You can see around the purple diamond shape. A small piece missing, but not all the way through. Very vivid colors. Green. Yellow/gold, amber, brown and 2 shades of purple. As you can see these windows back then were"puttied" in. Some that claim to be from this period are not. This beautiful leaded stained glass window feature rows of blue leaded glass rectangles and rows of gold leaded glass rectangles. The borders are a milky sky blue. The picture shows the window is framed in a modern light oak-stained frame. This oak frame is NOT included with the individual windows. The original painted frame(as can be seen in the picture) is dark brown. This window is 46 inches by 29 1/2 inches. It is absolutely wonderful condition and any wear is commiserate with its age: This window is from the 1920's. Here is a rare find that I've had for many many years. It is hand made and one of a kind. The old leaded stained glass window depicts a colorful lighthouse set along a beautiful shoreline. And as you can see. This sale is intended for local pick up only so I didn't even attempt to clean this before taking photos. It has some cracks along one pane but will look stunning once restored. German European Stained Glass Leaded Window 2 Windows 4 Panes! Hand Blown Glass
For sale are 2 stained glass windows. 4 panes total. The bottom panes are 36x19 and the top panes are 24x19. They are framed in wood for protection. I had a stained glass maker look at them and the company stated that they were approximately 100-150 years old, made in Germany. The glass is hand blown and hand painted and a technique called"silver staining" was used. There are 6 different religious icons on the windows, Joseph and Mary, the women at the well, Abraham with Issac on the alter to be killed, and 3 other scenes. There is no broken glass or lead. In the early 1990's the lead had several minor repairs by a qualified stained glass repairer. The story from the last owner of 70 years, is that they were purchased at an auction in NYC in the 1930s and that they came from the Vanderbilt estate, but that can not be proven. ... moreI can not find a makers signature but that does not mean that there is not one on the glass. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Mansion. This has zinc cambing instead of lead. All of the glass is clear and clear distorted with beveled glass in the middle and ends. The center piece also has a cut glass starburst. There are no cracks or breaks. It is in the original frame which is in good shape and is painted on both sides. It measures 66 inches wide by 16.5 inches tall. It is 1.5 inches thick. The glass only measures approx. 61 x 12. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. Some of the glazing putty needs touched up and filled in.
