Up for sale is a leaded stained glass window. I obtained this piece from a friend and have no idea about its age or who constructed it. I can find no markings of any kind on the piece. Please use the photos provided to verify what I have tried my best to describe. I am no expert in these pieces but try to provide quality photos so that the buyer can make an assessment of the item. This piece is 13.25 inches by 11.5 inches and weighs about 2.5 pounds. There are no cracks that I can find anywhere in the glass. There are"bubbles" but they are mainly in the blues part of the glass. Some of the pieces will move slightly but are in no way trying to come out of the framework. I almost missed it and thought it was dust. Window is in the original sill and shows natural wear for the age. Indent with cracks in few grouped sections on one panel. Wood framing is loosed to large stained glass panel. Back side supported by 6 steel bars welded/ soldered to stained leaded glass. Very thick and strong. These must have been wall div ider/ door panels. 2 1/4" thick wood Frame is notched for hinges. Wood looks like oak where hinges have been notched out but not a expert on wood. T here are other holes for door handles/ latches ect. Stained gl ass has partially been cleaned on front side and needs a good scrubbing. Years of built up dust and dirt. Approx. Over 15 different colors of stained glass and small diamond jewels, picture ... more2& 12 show artificial light going thru glass. Picture one shows both panels. c. 1800's Stained Leaded Slag Glass Church Memorial Window-Mrs. Jane Donovan You just don't find these old memorial stained glass windows. There is no doubt that this came from a church that had been torn down or renovated. This would have been on the lower window which could be opened for fresh air. It is believed this came from southern Illinois. That is all I know. The slag glass is quite thick and there are no breaks in the glass or ghe lead. Note the steel bar with wire twists across the class to support it. The glazing on the outside has had many patches and can easily be restored. But I would leave it as it is part of this window's history. The window measures 18 by 14 inches. ANTIQUE STAINED LEADED SLUG & TEXTURED GLASS ART WINDOW DOOR PANEL ROSES
Antique stained glass window/door panel. 24" long x 15-3/4" wide. Glass is quite thick. Yellow roses and green leaves opaque glass surface is very minimally textured. You'd have to closely scrutinize it to see it. The same applies to amber slug glass. Shading and toned streaks to colors. Evidently textured clear glass in the medallion is neither transparent nor frosted. It lets the light trough just fine. However it is blocking any clear view of objects behind it. Soldered seams. As well as the metal frame bear the sign of oxidation and patina. They are structurally sound and in very good condition. Reverse side of the metal frame has a residue of some kind, either thin putty or white paint. This panel comes from an old. Early 20th century house in Scranton. Pa. Thank you for looking. Please.
