Migrated to and attended school in England and moved to Los Angeles in 1949 where he remained for the rest of his life. He started the business right after he migrated to Los Angeles in 1949. He was very successful in this business catering to Casinos and Theaters while he functioned as an Interior Designer. He was so successful in this business that allowed him to pursue his likes and turned over the business to his son. He was also successful in Astronomy having made many devices that is used both in stellar identification and photography and is credited for having the first image of a Nova Explosion. He has Public works( Tile Murals) on display in ... moreLos angeles area. One a large panel much like the Picasso tile( Mosaic Mural) panel next to First NAtional Bank of Chicago in downtown, at Norwalk Library in Norwalk, California and other similar works on display at the same location. For your consideration is a beautiful pair of vintage framed stained glass panels. I know very little about stained glass. So I am unsure if these pieces are leaded glass or not. What i can tell you is that they are very beautiful. Classic diamond pattern with heavy lead in between the glass. There are no chips. Breaks, cracks, or large scratches to the glass. Here is another consignment offering from one of my all time favorite Charleston area high end antique collectors. Belle Epoque or the"Beautiful Era" refers to late 19th century France. From about 1871 through 1914 and the beginning of World War I in Europe, and a time period marked by collective optimism, peace at both home and abroad, general financial stability and overall comfort with life in the present. This positive atmosphere allowed and encouraged the arts to flourish in Paris and many beautiful works were completed during this era. This absolutely gorgeous large Belle Epoque style triptych, or three panel scene designed for use side by side, is a wonderful example of the lovely leaded and hand painted stained glass works created in France at this time and imported into Charleston, SC at some point long ago. In the manufacturing ... moreof this piece, the craftsman assembled the small individual panes of clear and amber leaded glass, with lead added to the glass itself to increase it's shine, into the three large panels. A leaded stained glass window or other object is made of pieces of glass, held together by lead. The pieces of glass are about 1/8 inch thick and are bound together by strips, called"comes" of grooved lead, soldered at the joints. The three panel were then used like one large canvas would then be. With the artist hand painting the entire design"vitraux" or in reverse, onto the three panels. Then the glass panels were heated to fuse the paint to the glass and complete the work. To be quite honest, my photographs just don't do this terrific glass masterpiece justice however I do have more pictures available upon request. This magnificent three panel window stands 93 1/2 inches tall and collectively measures between 97.5- 98 inches wide. With each of the three individual panels measuring 32 1/2 inches wide. Leaded Stained Glass Panels ~37" X 6" Vintage-Patina-Salvage-Repurpose-Project
I have 10 of these gorgeous leaded stained-glass panels measuring 36 3/4" L X 5 7/8" W. The raw edges(that insert into some kind of frame) are all metal. Non-ferrous. Could be lead or a non-ferrous alloy. Not sure of its composition. The edge thickness is slightly less than 1/8" thick. Glass displays nice warm colors of orange. Red, and ruby red. The glass has a mottled look-with air bubbles, streaks, and other intentional blemishes(see close-up photos) Looks like water running down the glass. I do not know what type of construction these panels were pulled from or how old they are. I believe they served in an exterior application somehow(by the appearance of the patina and how thick the glass and framing are. They are solidly made and have an even and naturally weathered look. Here is a pair of leaded clear glass panels I believe were once in a piece of furniture or cabinet doors. Probably 1910-1940. Both panels are nice and tight with no loose glass. One panel has one piece in it that has been damaged, but being clear glass could be replaced. I have not cleaned them so they may show a little dusty in the photos. I'm not sure what the proper name for these panels would be. The flowers and leaves are some sort of material inside lead. They're in good condition. Except the green is a tiny bit flawed on the tip of one of the leaves. It's hardly noticeable, but I thought it should be mentioned. The dark spots on the second picture are from reflections of branches and the wall where the picture was taken. These would be nice framed, or used as panels in the door of a project. This is a gorgeous double door! Measurements are: each door is 34" W and 8' tall and the transom is 2' Tall. It was taken apart so we could get it in our truck. But we have all pieces and hardware We bought this door and never got to put it up. And now we are moving. We can't take it with us.The door was purchased out of Ohio. Beautiful Antique Leaded Stained Glass Window Panels Beveled Set 9
Set of nine leaded. Stained glass panels. Each panel measures 7.75" x 3 5/8" The photos show the front and back of each panel. The little colored glass triangles are different on each panel- some green, pink, lavender, etc. I assume these made up one window at some point, and could be joined together again and hung. These were bought at a local auction. And I'm not sure how old they are. Very nice condition. One piece has white paint on the edge. Shipping charges are actual. Non-smoking home. PAIR Vintage Art Deco Leaded Beveled Stained Glass Window Panels Blue Unframed
Neat old pair of stained leaded glass windows in clear& blue glass measuring 20" x 20" These would be great as indoor decor as well as reused for their original purpose. These are old windows with an 8-point star in the center of the blue on both& the middle sections are bevelled. There are 4 blue panels that make up this blue circle. One of the windows has a small crack in one of those blue panels(see pic#9) The other window has a crack in the clear glass in one of the corners(see pic#10) This same window has a small crack in the blue as well(see pic#11) These windows need a good detailed cleaning& have some paint remnants on them.
