Location: Saugerties, United States These pieces of old stained glass were found in the basement of a local Welsh Church that was closing down. Church was built in the 1860s. These are pieces ... morethat I would assume were from one of their many stained glass windows. Though unsure of exact age(as I'm no expert) These have to be pretty old. Surfaces are not 100% smooth(unevenness present) and have wavy lines and marks in the composition. I tried to show this in the pics. These were found with old tape wrapped around them in a stack. Some tape and tape residue is still stuck in areas. Tape therefore is not because of damage, just because of the way they were stored. Pieces were used at one time as there is paint residue in areas along with window putty present. Pieces are in various shapes, sizes and conditions. Pieces range from 1 1/4" x 4 1/2" to about 3" x 8" Colors are blue, darker blue/ green(aqua) green and red. You can see how many(and which ones) pieces of each color are present. Or what a wonderful gift it would make for that special some one. window measures 10 x 16 inches to the outside of its frame. Because of design window can be hung either vertical or horizontal. For sale is a fully restored Gothic arch stained glass window with yellow panels. Purple border, and a vine motif in greens, browns, pinks, and whites with glass roundelles. The frame has been reconstructed and there are new tension springs reinforcing the crossbars on the back. It measures 26" wide, 66.25" tall, and the frame is 1.5" thick. This is a quite superb gothic stained glass& leaded panel with the cross centrally of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century. Dates about c1880. Of a European origin. Gothic. One of three similar listed. Would have been displayed in a church or house of religion. Stained glass and leaded panel with the gothic cross centrally with the coloured glass. Green coloured glass around the perimeter. It has an overall max size of about 11.75 x 9.25inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition is excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes. Resoldered lead joints. All as per pictures. Besides being a very collectable. Vintage Gothic Winged Gargoyle Dragon Combo Stained Glass Window Set Framed Lot
Up for sale are two framed stained glass windows depicting a winged dragon/gargoyle mixed creature. It is multi-colored. But mostly features reds and oranges. The eyes have a green iridescent glow that looks like they follow you. Both windows can be framed in either direction, the frame is the same on both sides. They both are the same size and measure approximately 22" high by 48.25" wide and the frame is.75" thick. Condition-wise, they don't show any cracks and the frame just shows general wear. We don't know much of the history to them so we are unsure on the age. They were very well made with quality wood and glass utilized. The glass has been placed into a custom-made contemporary wood frame and apart from some striations which look natural is in very good condition for its age and delicacy. All original glass is present. There are no cracks or chips that I could find, the leaded joints are clean and firm and there is no warping in the steepled frame.
