For sale is a circa 1910 antique window frame that has been converted by myself into a shelf and hat/coat rack. Measures 25 1/2" wide x 35 1/4" tall and the shelf projects 6" from the front of the window frame. The original brass handles have been preserved and the unit has been repainted in an off white satin enamel finish. The glass and professionally mounted photo print are new and create the illusion of looking out the window into a tropical paradise in the Maldive Islands. Federal Style Mahogany Camel Back Upholstered Settee Circa the First Quarter of the 20th Century With a soft serpentine curvature along the crest into the arms. This petite window bench has wonderful form. The arms scroll outward and into the seat frame, the entire frame covered in a striped upholstery, which stuffs over the frame of the seat. The sofa rests over two tapered and molded front legs, each of solid carved mahogany- the back legs are slightly backswept, tapering in a plain leg. This is a gorgeous designer piece. Dimensionally perfect for a window bench, a small settee in front of the master bed, as a seating implement in a smaller room or study. I purchase this piece about 20 yrs. ago from an antique store in Virginia. The owner said it came out of an old Victoria house in Philidelphia, Pa. Colors are magnificent with a lot of red. And 12 jewels. Very ornate. Frame is original, old white oil based paint on the inside and recent-latex paint on the outside. One flower pedal has a couple slight cracks- see photo. This does not take away from the over all beauty of the glass so I never bothered to have it repaired. However. It wouldn't cost much at all to have it fixed. I am not familiar with nautical items so I am guessing.I have six of these and they all came with glass which look to be two pieces of glass stuck together, not sure if that is normal practice. Each glass section has discoloration, foggy in the center and what looks like the remains of glue between the two pieces of glass. The bronze ring and glass were sold to me as pairs which makes me think they are some kind of window or viewing section but I cannot be sure. The rings are bronze with the a weathered patina and remains of white paint. Vintage Window Mirror - Shabby Antique Sash - Distressed - 22 1/2" square
I collect these old windows when i can find them- usually on remodel jobs im involved in. Or at estate auctions. Sometimes i reuse them on other jobs. when i have time, i like to use them for different projects. I just finished this one yesterday. I removed any loose(lead) paint. Then hand sanded it to remove some more of the old paint. i bleached. Rinsed, dried, and applied 3 coats of clear acrylic to seal in the shabby look and make it dirt/smudge resistant. Its smooth to the touch. And displays well as is, or could be painted quickly and easily to match your decor- without any of the messy prep! i'm working on some other ones. But they are quite a bit larger and heavier, containing 1/4" plate mirrors. It was obtained from a local farm estate where the family had lived on the same farm for over 100 years. It is very dirty as it was found in one of their barns. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique(old, not reproduction) window frame with wrought iron insert. This gorgeous architectural piece was salvaged from an old church is Southwest Missouri. It is quite unique with a painted tortoise shell or marbled finish. The colors are whte, cream, tan, black and a burnt orange. The wrought iron insert is also ornate with intricate scroll work and a center, round medallion. The wrought iron is attached to the back of the frame with screws. The window is in good condition. It does have chipped paint and the iron has an aged and rusted patina. The wood is old but still intact. The Gothic arch is very nice with a severe and pointed top. This beautiful silhouette is in near perfect condition. It is in a wooden frame that is painted a beige color. I believe it is the original frame. It measures 9 3/4 x 8 inches. The back in also in good condition and has two different markings. The first is a label from the antique shop where I purchased. About 15 years ago. It states 1934 Reliance Glass $28.00. The second is a square label that states NRA CODE, there is an eagle between that) then it says issued by picture molding and picture frame code authority. Antique French windows salvaged from a former cream production plant(see last photo) in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The plant was built during the 1890's and many of the windows were original to the plant's construction. Although a few windows may have been made after that period; all are solid wood. Each window is made of solid pine and has 9 glass lites. No hardware included. These windows were originally installed as double-hung pairs.
