Large Antique American Stained&Jeweled Floral Window
fid6033 Antique American Stained Glass Window with wonderful glass throughout. This is a surprisingly large window. Measuring in its frame 28.5” x 81” It is my feeling that this window is a combination of an old central panel with a new surround. Although the reconfiguration was done a long time ago. The floral section, including the‘figure 8’ configured border is, to my eye, originally from another window, with the outer, very vivid border added. It is clear that at one time this central section had plating as the lead came has been trimmed back. There are a few cracks as well as a couple of border pieces which appear to have been replaced. Having said that, the glass is all first rate, there are rondels which have been squared off in the corners, and drapery glass has been used in some of the flower petals. The window has had 2 border pieces ... moreglued. One new lead-line in the border, been re-cemented and re-framed. These are a matched set of 2 antique curtain tiebacks and 2 matching curtain rod ends. The tiebacks are iron with hammered designs where the ornate facing meets the plain back. The rod ends are NOT cast iron- a magnet does not stick. The tiebacks measure 6 1/2" wide x 2 3/4" high. The spacing is 2" deep. These are in wonderful condition- no chips or cracks. The item for auction is another assortment of Antique& Vintage Hardware. The lot consists of a wide variety of hardware used on doors. Windows and cabinets. The items were cleaned, restored and refinished in an attempt to bring out their original appearance, beauty and workmanship as well as to preserve them for future use. Some of the items were polished as well. The items are original and authentic and not reproductions. In todays market place these items and similar items are being reproduced but, lack in quality, authenticity and craftsmanship and are sold at a premium. Some of the items were layered in paint, dirty with grease and oil and general grime. Items were paired up as found in a broken down cardboard box. this gorgeous reverse hand painted and gold leafed glass medallion must have come from an architectural salvadge job so i'm calling it an OCCULUS? or ROUND WINDOW? or what ever you decide it may have been(i'm at a loss. It's too large to be a medallion from a piece of furniture and perfectly sized for a household window) piece is large measuring 20 inches in diameter across the center the back of piece is etched releif of patterning indicated and colored or leafed on the front there is wear and tare as is normal some scratches along the edges of the bag where item has been handled excessively or perhaps removed from it's setting in the center of the medallion there are several scratches that almost appear like someone was using as a spy hole but i doubt that. none of the scratches on the back is noticable from the front there ... moreare no cracks or ding or pings or hairlines that i've been able to find on the piece it is heavy and it is ready willing and able to be used IMMEDIATELY by you if you don't use this as a window in your victorian mansion. It has a new oak frame which is painted on both sides. It measures 22.75 inches wide by 30.75 inches tall and is 1.25 inches thick. The glass only is approx. 20 by 28.25. Overall it is in very good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There is 1 tight hairlines. The frame needs cleaned up. Old Farm Fresh HUGE Barn Wood Wall w/ Ladder, Window - Vintage Antique Primitive
Hello. And welcome to Gallery 33. Creative. Constructive. Art. This amazing piece of history was salvaged from a barn in Kokomo. IN. The original barn structure is still standing(see pic) and per local tax records, was built in 1910. I believe the section of the barn from which this wall was retrieved was added on several years later, and served as a storage area for the farm when it was in full operation. My father and I rescued this piece by hand when that section of the barn collapsed and needed cleaned up. The wall itself has great features. Including a hand-built ladder that is attached to it and that was used(by little whippersnappers like me when I was younger) to navigate back and forth from the ground up into the loft area. It also has a window-like opening that built into its original design. All of the wood used in its construction ... morehas a nice rough-sawn, weathered look. The base of the wood panels beneath the ladder do have some wear/rotting from being in direct contact with the concrete(please see pic) However. Overall the rest of the piece seems to be in sound condition. Approx. Measurements: 88" wide by 90" tall by 8" deep Approx. Weight: Heavy(best guess is 200-300 LBS) This wall is pretty large and extremely heavy. And would probably be best suited for local pickup.
