Especially the ones that come out of the old Churches, like this one. This is just incredible. It is an older window that is about 43" tall. It has a wood frame with the old white paint on the front and brown on the back. The paint is now chippy and peely for a perfect patina. It has the amazing arched window at the center with twelve colored glass panes all around it. The center has an awesome pattern that I believe like the old stencil in white. Not sure if this is considered stencil. The colored glass all around is gorgeous in different colors. The bottom glass pane on the left has some cracks or a little break, as I show in some close ups. There is only one pane with a break. There is a slight separation to the wood at the top, as I show. There is some missing window putty, but it appears solid. This is such a statement making piece that will be one of your favorite items in your own home. Don't pass it up! Great in any shabby chic, Victorian, Antique, romantic cottage or French country home. Measurements are about 43" tall by about 22" wide and 1 1/2" deep. It weighs about 12 pounds. Around the plates the glass is done in several different clear textured glass in a geometric pattern. The outside border is done in blue with white glass mix. The overall size of the panel is approximately 17 x 11. I want to note that the plates have a base about 1/2 high so the back side of the panel is not flat. This is to allow the front side to be flat to the edge of the plates where they then curve in for the plate. The panel can be hung in either direction as there rings in each corner. The patina on the solder is black and the frame is silver. All items are handmade by me using the Tiffany style of construction. Shipping: Insurance is included in shipping. ANTIQUE STAINED GLASS CHURCH WINDOW- GOTHIC ARCH- CHI RHO- LATE 19TH CENTURY/ EARLY 1900s(LOT C) Chi Rho- Symbol for Christ Roundel- Painted detailed brown/gold letters with inset of teal scrolls and painted blue background Heavy Gothic revival wood frame with deep molding. Glass roundel is hand painted, background is an amber textured glass, surrounded by a swirled purple/green slag glass, a lighter green/white slag glass, deep ruby red glass, and blue/purple textured glass, the glass is thick with all kinds character in the surface, tiny bubbles, etc. the pictures show the beautiful colors, much of the glass have swirled multi-colors at different levels. Here is old stained glass window from a church in the mid-west around 1910. Except for a few cracked pieces of glass which are not prominent. It is in good shape and solid. I believe this is the top portion of the full window, but is gorgeous displays well all by itself. Approximately 30" wide by 28" tall. It is from the Paul Ecke Poinsettia Ranch estate in Encinitas, CA. Mr. Ecke was the man responsible for coining Encinitas as"The Flower Capitol of the World" See other items I have from the ranch on auction this week. Antique Stained Glass Church Window 57" x 37"
This is a very old leaded glass arch widow from an old church. The window measures 57" wide and 37" tall. Along the bottom edge. The lead channel appears to be distorted in places, likely during removal. To the right of the center"crowns" design, there are some small cracks in the first narrow pane and the next full pane; but these are very minor and do not detract from the beauty of the piece. The remainder of the glass is perfect. Needless to say. This window is very heavy and cannot be shipped. Feel free to send me a message with any questions. Large Antique Stained Glass Window Historic Southern Alabama Church
Incredible curved top stained glass window originally from a church in Mobile. Alabama. The church was built in 1911 and burned in the early 1930's and rebuilt in the early 1940's. The window is from the original church in the 1911, or so I was told. Exceptional window for your stairwell. Bathroom or anywhere in the house- new or remolded construction. A MUST see! Measures 75" tall x 33" wide. Good condition. With minor imperfections that are common with stained glass windows. There are a few pieces of glass that have been replaced in later years. The window is made of early stained glass that is very difficult to find today. If a piece broke or cracked, it was replaced with another piece of stained glass that was closest to the original. Replaced pieces are old as well. The differences aren't that noticeable. I've ... morecounted three places where glass has been repaired and replaced. Some pieces were partially replaced. Also. The window is extremely heavy. As with most antique windows of this size and weight, it has shifted or settled at the bottom. It bottom panels bend out towards the back less than an inch. However, the window is very stable and tight. There are not loose pieces of glass and the frame is tight. A professional would easily be able to restore the shifting at its base. The arch angel(this one) always looked over the bishops right shoulder and another one that is not arch angel looked over the bishops left shoulder.I will be listing more windows either in my store or on auction. The church windows are from the historic St. Michael Byzantine church located in South Fork Pa. Sadly the church is being demolished. The wooden frames are original to the building of the church from 1906. They have the heavy weights still inside the frames. Weight approximatl450 pds. per window. They were cut out of the walls. So as you look at the pictures you will see the 2x8 framing. You will have to do some repairs to the woodwork. I am going to finish mine and stand against a wall instead of installing as a window. The inside rough opening of the wood frame is 4'x6" The outside rough opening this is total outside framing wood 90"x45-3/4" wide x depth 6" The curved sill is 43" wide. The bottom has a window that pulls open it is 23" tall. It is difficult to show every piece of the curved frame. As I wrote frame in antique condition will need some work. This frame has a piece of wood as shown on the left side missing I believe that it is in my storage unit and I will check, these window frames also have the original cast iron weights in them. Large Antique Stained Glass 1885 Lysander New York Church Window w/Hinged Top
This is a large 40" wide x 102" tall stained glass window with a sun ray hinged top piece that opens out to let air in. Could use this piece by itself. There are 2 panes that are cracked as shown in pictures and the glass has settled toward bottom were inscription is also tried to show in picture so piece needs some attention. But very worthy of it as it very beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice and it is very heavy and so very difficult to move around to take a better picture, although I did move it quite easily to my location. The frame/molding surrounding piece is very solid and measures 1 7/8"thick x 2 1/8" wide. Piece as is quite dirty so doesn't show as well as it could in pictures. Offering this as pickup my location 13069 only. As it would be quite difficult to ship via commercial carrier. May consider ... morebringing piece to customer for added price pending buyers location. Here is small piece from History of Lysander NY that can be easily be found on the web. That speaks to church this window was removed from. It is now a residence in that village, but stii very much resembles the original church. Notice the name of Rev John L Franklin who the window is dedicated to. The Presbyterians built a church for their use in 1833 and prospered many years. Its membership at one time reaching about 300. But in course of time this society also became very much weakened and in 1877 under an order of the court the two organizations were united under the name of"The Congregational Church and Society of Lysander. This society is still in existence. The first pastor was Rev. Henry T. Sell; his successors have been Revs. John L. Franklin. Charles H. Curtis, Charles E. Hoyt and John L. Antique Stained Leaded Glass Window St. Patrick's Irish Motif from Phili Church
This antique stained leaded glass was a salvaged window from an old Church in Philadelphia. My father acquired it in 1970 and was told that it was at least 50 years old AT THAT TIME which would date it pre 1920. He had it beautifully framed in oak and hung it inside his home over a window to appreciate it's beauty. There are 4 holes through the corners of the frame which is how it was mounted. I have no where to display this piece so I have decided to part with it. The glass measures 16 3/4" wide by 28" tall and the frames' outside measurements are 21 3/4" X 33" Please realize this is a very old piece and it does have some cracks in the glass and some minor separation of the lead. All the glass is still well in place. This is a hand wrought work of art made by a skilled craftsman. I have provided 12 photographs ... morebut please don't hesitate to ask for any additional. Antique Architectural Salvage Gothic Arch Church Stained Glass Leaded Window
Architectural salvage Gothic Church Window. In very good shape. All the leading is tight and the wood is in good shape. It is obvious it had previously been professionally repaired. There is only one small glass at the very bottom corner which has a barely noticeable crack. the rest of the glass is in good shape. there might be some small things that I missed because it is antique and is not perfect but overall in very good shape as described. One side has chippy white paint and the other side has a medium to dark brown stain. Can be displayed whichever way one prefers. I do have another one of these same windows if someone is interested in two. I just am keeping one for myself but will give it up if someone wants a pair.
