This exquisite sideboard appears to be wearing its original finish and is abundant with many very desirable features! Up for Auction: One(1) Antique 19th Century Empire European Side-Stand circa 1830's-1850's. A friend of mine asked me to list this for him and I am giving you the info he has been given on it. I am not a collector or a furniture professional. So I am hoping the collectors out there will know about this awesome find! I'm told that the knobs date back to 1826 and that this piece came over by ship from possibly Ireland? The carving on this one is fabulous to say the least. Can't even imagine the amount of time that was invested in this to create such an awesome look back in the day! Lion's paw/claw feet/legs are beautifully done. Piece shows obvious signs of aging. Wear and some chips scratches and surface cracks. I have tried to capture the condition the best I could. Two knobs are off the front but my friend has one of ... morethem. Two are still in tact and on side stand. No key for keyholes. Back of unit has pushed away in a few spots and he nor I have made any attempt to re attach. It is still attached but needs to be nailed back completely. In addition- we have made no attempt whatsoever to clean this beauty in fear that we might do more harm than good! The material is glowing tiger oak. There are barley twist supports for the mirror shelf. Wonderful stepped levels in the drawers and original pressed brass hardware. Drawers open and close fine. The pillars are solid tiger maple, with carved mahogany capitols. Case is front support of carved mahogany hairy claw feet with acanthus leaf. Secondary woods are maple. Original swirl molded glass knobs, original brass escutcheons. Includes two original keys, all locks present. The top board, and the side boards with recessed panels, are cherry stained maple. This beautiful oak sideboard is a focal point in any room. It is in excellent condition for its age(approx late 1800s to early 1900s) with intricate carvings. Trim and a beveled mirror. The griffin heads blend into tails along the side of the mirror. The heads on the front legs blend into the paws. This is an original piece, not a reproduction. The tiger oak is stunning and the finish is beautiful. It was made in the USA in Easton, MD. It has good storage with 3 small drawers, 1 large drawer and 2 cabinets. The drawers slide easily. There are keyholes in the drawers, but no key. It measures 39 1/4" tall from floor to top of sideboard. 57 1/2" to top of mirror. It is 47 1/2" wide and 22" deep. Two piece construction, with original gray veined beveled marble top. The top section has three mirrors, with architectural elements and carvings, and two nick nack shelves. The case has three long drawers over three doored compartments, each compartment with a stationary removable walnut shelf. There are fine burl walnut veneers on raised panels. This is a striking. First half of the 19th century, American Sheraton server in Cherry and Tiger Maple- see photos. It is a fantastic small size- just under 36 inches across 35 inches high. The finish is old- possibly original- and the wood has developed a dark natural patina. The drawers are all dovetailed and the tiger maple fronts are solid beautifully figured tiger maple. The tiger maple and cherry compliment each other. This beautiful small piece will fit perfectly into any Americana decor. We suspect this piece was made in western Pennsylvania or New York State. A most incredible find. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures but this piece is massive. It's a situation where it's hard to describe what you see in person but I'll make attempt at it. Strongly believed to be made by Rj Horner and a variation of the man on the mountain suite. At first I thought this is a sideboard but upon further examination I believe it's an entry piece similar to a credenza. It could also be a additional fees for a very high and dining room suite. Is carvings are magnificent the condition is even better than that, it looks to be all original finish if anything maybe somebody cleaned it at one point but it is spectacular. It has so much carving on it's hard to even start from a total of six carved mountain men to the most incredible carved scene where typically you would find a mirror. ... moreThe carved panel is for sure a scene from Egypt as you can see the great pier meds in the background the man on the camel is three-dimensional so are the other figures. It has egg and dart. Gadrooning, shell carvings, nut clusters, claw feet, scallops, and everything else you would want. I took a picture of the inside of the drawer in the back to show you that the original felt is still in the drawers. American Victorian Marble-top " Hunt" Sideboard
This is a beautiful American Victorian marble top sideboard circa 1865. The case is made of walnut. With lovely raised panels with molded edges and inset panels of burr walnut veneer. It has the"dead game" carvings that were popular at the time. The top of the sideboard is not original to the base. But has been on it for 35 years that I have owned it. I give no value to the top as the asking price is for the base only. If the purchaser wants the top included at no cost, that is agreeable.

Medium color with beautiful beveled glass on the upper door fronts as well as a beveled mirror on the center. It features carved brass detailing throughout and on the door pulls.
