This particular piece has a breakfront where the marble steps out in the middle, carved pillars coming down through the center door, outside doors and right across the top is all burl walnut with dainty inlaid trim. The two doors open on the base to expose a shelf interior. The center is the mirror panel with the pillars and is not a door. You have a double door front and a center with carved pillars. The looking glass is scratched and worn, which adds charm and character. The inlaid appears to be in nice shape.

Antique FRENCH COUNTRY Buffet CABINET SIDEBOARD Carved Gorgeous Marble Top
Wonderful antique buffet sideboard. This is a true quality item! Superbly made and exceptionally heavy! Measures 72 inches across. Depth 23 inches across front marble. Mirror top to marble base. 26 inches. 46 inches from floor to marble base. Interior side shelves measure 17 inches long and 7 1/2 inches wide. 2 side doors swing out to the side. Main body interior is 16 inches deep by 48 inches long by 30 inches tall. 2 front drawers with two side drawers. Swing out to the side as shown! Solid oak everywhere! Even the drawer linings. Draw sides and back are all oak and not an inferior wood. The interior is all oak. The doors lock but I have lost the key! Currently all the doors are unlocked! Inside at the back somebody cut a hole out. Not sure why that was done but it is there! The only newish part is an interior shelf which is in the main ... morebody. I believe it is still solid oak but it lacks the patina of the original. The glass is not damaged anywhere. The marble has exquisite shading and color. With pink, grey and purple variations. It has light scratches on the top and minor tiny chips on the edge as expected for a piece this age. It is not broken anywhere! The carvings are so wonderful with urns. Horns, ribbons, roses, tassels, swags and leaves. Both front panels have cracks on the decoration as seen in the photographs. Very reluctantly for sale! 1800's Solid Cherry Marble Top and Backsplash Buffet, Server, Washstand
You are bidding on a beautiful solid cherry very unique piece of furniture. I have been using it in my foyer for years but it could be used for a sofa type piece behind a sofa that didn't sit against a wall. It would make a nice buffet or server in a kitchen or dining room. It would be great used as a vanity in a bedroom or bath but it would be absolutely georgous with a sink mounted either in it or one of those kind where the bowl sits on top of the cabinet. It would be great. If it would fit in my bathroom I wouldn't be selling it but unfortunately my bathrooms are all way to small. Please pay close attention to the photos. They are self explanatory. There are two deep drawers that will hold lots of stuff with beautiful brass handles. The drawers are made of solid oak so they will be extra sturdy. Description of item for sale: This beautiful vaisselier(buffet with plate rack) is from the Breton(Brittany) region of France and it dates to the mid/late 1800's. This is a spectacular piece with a beautiful original finish and a very pretty(and practical) marble top. It is made from solid chestnut finished very dark in the classic Breton style. This cabinet is in very good antique condition and it's very sturdy and solid. The only defect of any significance is the back panel that shows at the back of the plate rack: it is cracked in several places. When we bought it. This back was covered with contact paper(ugh! Age is not definite, but from what I know and who I know, we believe it was made sometime between the very late 1800s to the very early 1900s, up to 1920. The server I believe is from Europe due to the estate I purchased it from and its woods and marble are extraordinary. Speaking of the bevelled heavy mirror, which is in excellent condition, the frame has a marvelous bronze decoration in the middle that looks similiar to a cartouche; where one would expect family initials. All the wonderful bronze ormalu decorations are intact and magnificent. The Italian marble is very outstanding as well and in excellent condition. There were two(because I felt them) fleabite and I mean tiny.nicks on the edge. They are not noticable to the eye. Other than that the marble top and two flanked panels of marble are all intact, NO cracks or stain, etc.they are very nice. The three doors all have original locks. The doors are elaboratly carved. Being presented for sale is this Superb Victorian Walnut& Burl walnut Brown Marble Top Mirrored back Sideboard/ Buffet with carved Lion heads circa 1880. This 19th century piece is just gorgeous and would surely be a beautiful focal point in your home. This is a impressive sideboard with gorgeous spoon carvings. Finials, carved Lion heads,burl walnut panel accents and a fancy carved scroll and shell gallery as well as the original beautiful brown marble top and the original brass hardware and early dove-tailed ends on the drawers. This sideboard/ buffet measures a total height of 82 1/2 inches( 6 ft 10 1/2 in) to the top of the carvings on the very top center. Height from the floor to the top of the brown marble measures 36 1/2 inches,with a total width of 48 1/4 inches and a depth at the base of 21 1/2 inches and this pieces weighs approximately ... more250 lbs. This sideboard does dis-assemble into 4 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The fine display shelf above the marble measures 26 inches in height above the marble top and the shelf measures 43 inches wide by 11 inches deep.The larger mirror measures 19 inches high by 33 inches wide, and the three mirrors at the top each measure 10 inches wide by 6 inches high. This is a fabulous piece in wonderful antique condition and the original brown marble top is also just beautiful with no apologies we can find. All the locks are intact but the key provided just aids in opening the cabinet doors and does not work the locks. There is a small piece of carving missing on the left side of the pediment inside of one of the scrolls. I have shown a close-up of in the pictures and appears to have been missing for a long time.nothing major in my opinion and definitely doesn't distract from the beauty of this gorgeous 19th century piece. This auction is for a antque Buffet-sideboard measures 10'0" w x 39" h x 23" deep. The Buffet is an heirloom piece and been in my family for a long time. The piece is an 1940 French Antique. The buffet is made from solid hard wood with a wood veneer front, and has a beautiful chevron pattern on the veneer, v ery unique. There are five storage compartments in the piece. Two on each end and three in the middle of the piece, each compartment can be locked and comes with a vintage skeleton key. The buffet is finished on top with a scalloped piece of WHITE marble. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. A beautiful massive circa 1930's French sideboard with an incredible marble top. The measurements of this lovely piece are: 92" 1/2 in length + 26" 1/4 in width + 38" 1/4 in height. The marble is a wonderful color match or the oak wood with tans and taupes throughout. It would be an excellent piece in a dining room or to use as a bar. The wood used is solid oak and the entire piece is quite heavy. Despite its weight. It is also very sturdy and strong. There are two drawers and two cabinet doors in this marble top server that provide a good amount of storage. The cabinets and the back splash have complimenting wood carvings that also tie in to the brass drawer handles. Not sparing any attention to detail, the maker also fluted the front corners by the cabinet doors, paneled the sides and back splash, and added plate grooves to the back splash for displaying fine china. All of these fine details combine to make a truly wonderful antique marble top server. This antique server is in excellent condition. The drawers and doors function correctly. The wood and finish are in excellent shape as is the marble. There is a small gap on the right side where two boards meet. This is normal for a solid wood piece and the sides are quite stable. Sideboard measures 51.5" long. 23" deep, 32" high and has a additional 6.5" backsplash. Mirror measures 50" long, 1" thick, 50" high at its highest point. This marble sideboard is sold as is. This entire piece is inlaid wood. There are hinges on the mirror. Not all hardware is attached. 1 piece missing& 2 pieces are replaced. Marble slab is cracked in 2 starting from the front middle(approx. continuing to approximately the back of the right side. Backsplash& sides can stand on their own, but are not attached.
