I am unsure if the type of wood it is made from, but it is most likely mahogany. This sideboard has amazing carved details on the embossed panels, and is very majestic, while being delicate and ornate at the same time. There are a few of the little decorative finial pieces that are loose. The key is intact with the piece. The piece has adjustable shelves on the top cabinet, and more shelving in the bottom section. This can be seen in the photos. The top piece by itself is 39” tall, and the bottom is 55" tall, making the piece an incredible 94" tall total.

All intact and excellent condition. This piece could go anywhere. Antique decor as well as contemporary due to its fine artistic style and adournments. Age is not definite, but from what I know and who I know, we believe it was made sometime between the very late 1800s to the very early 1900s, up to 1920. Our gut feeling(see dovetails in picture) is turn of the century.1900. THIS CAN BE PICKED UP ALSO.BUT MUST BE PAID FOR. The server I believe is from Europe due to the estate I purchased it from and its woods and marble are extraordinary. The bronze applications are solid and so lovely as well. ... moreIt definitly has that rich expensive continental flair. The server measures 55 1/4" wide. 21" deep, and 62" high to the top of the mirror. Speaking of the bevelled heavy mirror, which is in excellent condition, the frame has a marvelous bronze decoration in the middle that looks similiar to a cartouche; where one would expect family initials. All the wonderful bronze ormalu decorations are intact and magnificent. The Italian marble is very outstanding as well and in excellent condition. There were two(because I felt them) fleabite and I mean tiny.nicks on the edge. They are not noticable to the eye. Other than that the marble top and two flanked panels of marble are all intact, NO cracks or stain, etc.they are very nice. The three doors all have original locks. The doors are elaboratly carved. Each end having a basket of flowers and the middle looks like a shell of some kind. They were very tastefully executed. Shipping for this piece varies due to distance. Ship fees in Suffolk. This Buffet/Server has a light/medium stain finish color, and it has antique Brass finish handles, see pictures. This wonderful Buffet/Server was designed by the Davis Cabinet Company, a fine furniture manufacturer. This classic Buffet/Server has a vertical door on the side. And it has dove-tailed drawers that are made out of solid wood on the inside, see pictures, and they are in good original condition. This Buffet/Server is in good, original, secure and sturdy condition with some small scratches/dents here and there proper to its age, see pictures. Baker Furniture Sideboard/Buffet,Inlaid Mahogany, Hepplewhite, Bowfront Demilune
Offered for sale is a Stunning Baker Furniture Hepplewhite Inlaid Mahogany Demilune Sideboard/Server/Buffet. This bowfront sideboard features two deep drawers and four curved doors with storage cabinets. All with beautiful brass carved pulls. The top drawer has the Baker nameplate and a green silverware liner and the drawer below is a tambour-style with an arched surround. The mahogany features a gorgeous inlaid cross-banded border with inlaid stringing all supported on six tapered legs with spade feet. The sideboard measures 66" wide x 37" high x 27.5" deep. I believe this sideboard is 20-25 years old but I am not sure of the exact age. It may be older. Overall it is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: there are a few light scuffs/scratches on the top(see pic#11) and the back left leg has a hairline crack ... morethat extends from the foot upwards approximately 3-4 inches(see pic#12) This crack does not appear to affect the sturdiness of the piece. I have discounted the price to reflect this issue. Overall, as is the case with all Baker mahogany furniture, this sideboard is a stunning piece of furniture that is a beauty to behold. The maker made this buffet by hand properly distressing and hand finishing the piece so it looks very much like a genuine antique sideboard. The top has a satinwood band and half satinwood and ebony ... morestar inlay. You will notice in a few of the pictures the top seems to have a"rippled" texture to it. The ripples run both left to right and front to back and we believe are due to the humidity change coming over from England. The piece is structurally sound and the ripples are only visible in certain lights but we wanted to disclose them as much as possible. Each panel of the cabinet features an oval flame mahogany inlay with a straight grain mahogany quartered border. The effect is quite striking. Inside the locking cabinet door is one fixed wooden shelf. This buffet sits on four spade feet. And there is some minor wear to one of the feet as shown. Overall this is a very unusual piece that is sturdy and will last for many, many years to come. It has a wide variety of possible uses in the home and could be a versatile part of your decor. This is a really amazing server. It could have been made for an exhibition. lt was made in England circa 1870. The carving on the top are superb, almost like black forest carvings. The base is serpentine. With two shelves to the center Condition is very good. It comes in 6 parts so it is easy to transport.
