This buffet is Mission Oak and has the original oak wheels! It is missing the muntins on the glass. But otherwise is in great condition. All hinges and latches work perfectly. It is solid oak with a nice medium dark finish and it appears to be in original condition. The server is topped with a shelf supported by straight posts. The server top has a couple of spots that may be ink stains. Be sure to look at the photos below. The edge of the top is a little scuffed but other wise this piece is in great condition. There are 4 small drawers with ... moresquare wooden pulls and a small compartment in the middle with a glass front door and wood pull. Below there are 2 larger wooden doors with large brass looking hinges and a large brass latch. At the base is a long drawer with wood cup style pulls. This server may have originally had a mirror but there is not one on it now. I am not sure if there was a mirror on this piece originally or not. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This buffet measures 60½ inches tall, 48 3/16 inches side to side and 24½ inches front to back. It weighs 218 pounds. ART NOUVEAU DECO ARTS & CRAFTS SIDEBOARD BUFFET Mission
It's big! It's beautiful! And as you can tell from all the descriptive terms in the listing title. I'm not sure of the exact age and style. I ran out of room in the description or I would have added European and Jugendstihl to the mix. We have had it for 5-6 years and it came from an estate, so we couldn't get any history about it. We never worried much about exactly what it's pedigree was, because it was such a great piece. It does have areas that could use restoration and I've got about half a gig of pictures that show all in great detail. I can email you additional photos. The upper cabinet has three doors with glass and the center glass has that very pretty arts and crafts design. There are lighter wood inlay designs in the bottom of the two outer doors. The upper cabinet has a removable shelf. The counter top ... moreis a piece of marble. It is in one piece but there is a fracture line running diagonal that's hard to see in the photo, which might be a natural part of the grain. Below the counter and above the two drawers is a slide out extension. The two drawers below it are nice and roomy. The two big doors on the bottom open to a huge interior storage area that has a shelf dividing it into upper and lower areas. The front has the lighter wood designs on the doors and the curved portion of the front facing portion of the sides. The additional pictures I have show the details so much better. The doors and drawers have locks, but the keys didn't come with it. I've never shipped anything of this size, but I know a Pack and Ship company that can take care of this. I'll get you a quote if you send me an address. Though it's large, the top comes off and the marble counter comes out, so it actually becomes manageable for 2-3 guys to move. The bottom base has three doors with bottom oak shelving. The doors have locks with original key. All parts to the Sideboard are completely original with the exception to a replaced back mirror. The three top leaded glass door cabinets have three separate adjustable solid quartered sawed oak shelves. The left bottom lock to the door is missing. It could be replaced if desired. It still retains it's beautiful dark oak original finish. My photos are awful. The finish is dark like it looks in the photos but there is no light& dark spots like it appears in some of the photos. I believe it is the flash on my camera against the dark original finish. Stickley company makes a reproduction buffet similar to this original#89-711, retail price $6,537.00, the store I checked with in Chattanooga, Tn quoted me $4,249.05 plus $80.00 delivery fee. I am listing this original sideboard for less than the reproduction, $3995.00 which I think is a great starting price. You will see the beautiful backsplash, lovely original hardware, ect. but to find pieces with their original dark oak finish intact, well it's just nearly nonexistant. Thats what makes this piece so great is the original finish and the original metal label. The drawers are all dovetail construction as you can see from the photo of the one with the label, this is the silverware drawer. The felt lining was probably soiled after years of use so it has been removed as you can see from the finish inside this drawer. I have left this piece exactly as I found it but we can or you can reline the drawer quite easily. The condition of this item is great, tight and it only has the normal wear that you would find on a piece in original finish and for it's age. This mission-style buffet was originally purchased from an antique dealer in Valley City. ND about 10-15 years ago. That dealer estimated it was built in about 1917. The dimensions are approximately 50" wide by 23" deep by 38" tall(to the surface of the buffet; 54" to the top of the mirror) All pulls are original. The bottom drawer has been rebuilt, and part of the bottom frame has been reinforced at some point. This is a solid, heavy piece of furniture. A mission/Arts& Crafts piece in excellent condition and highly functional. Stands 52 inches high and is 4 feet by 20.5 inches in size. Striking tiger oak pieces. All original handles. The top drawer has a removable sliding tray with divisions and original velvet tray bottom in mint condition. Two small handles to lift it with. There are two small drawers on each side and then a very shallow drawer for place mats. Below that two doors and big space for storage and at the bottom a good-sized drawer for storage. AMERICAN PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE BUFFET/SERVER/CABINET This listing is for an Antique Server. It has been in the owner's family for the last sixty years. It comes from a household filled with many Country/Shaker/ Mission/ Primitive AUTHENTIC antiques. It is beautifully hand carved with spindle legs adding warmth and usefulness to any home. We are not experts. And after much research we are still not certain if it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is NOT a reproduction. It has a solid Primitive Americana look and feel. It seems to be either Jacobean or Tudor in style. There are some numbers stamped on the back. Some finishing nails and flathead screws were used in it's construction. The drawer is held together by dovetail grooves. See photos) There is some wear. But there is no evidence of any repairs or restoration. We ... morehave the loosened knob to a cabinet door and it will be included with the item. There are no broken hinges. Both doors open and close beautifully. There is a blemish where a child once painted a face with a magic marker at the top of a back spindle leg. See close-up photo. The server is a deep honey brown in color. In order to bring out blemishes. Some photos were taken in a bright daylight. Most of the photos were taken in different types of light. With two different cameras and on different days. The color may be inconsistent in the photos. But this provides a more informed look at the item. Dimensions: The Server is 37& 1/2" tall at the front. It is 44& 1/2" tall at its back. Up for auction is a very nice Antique Mission Oak Arts& Crafts Sideboard/Buffet. It is solid oak- very sturdy and very heavy. The mirror/shelf can be detached and it can be used as a server without the mirror if you like. It is in great shape for furniture of this age but it does have some rings on the surface(see 3rd photo- the picture makes them look worse than they are- nothing a quick surface refinishing wouldn't fix) I guestimate this is around 100 years old. It has all original hardware. Mirror, and a key as seen in the photos. From first glance it appears there are only 3 drawers(2 at the top- one of which has divided sections lined with brown velvet for your silverware- and a large drawer at the bottom) BUT it actually has a HIDDEN 4th DRAWER(see the 4th photo) It measures 23(d) X 54(w) X 53(h) I love this piece but we are ... moremoving and won't have room for it in the new place so my loss is your gain(I have set a low reserve as I know I have to sell this before the movers arrive) Please look at all the photos and ask all questions before bidding- if no one has placed a bid and you want to make an offer, let me know- I can always change it to a"Buy it now" option if no one has yet placed a bid. Unusual and very well cared for antique Mission Oak Sideboard in it's original finish. I have had this in my home for over 20 years and have always loved the great form and tall counter height(43" including the 1-3/4" removable wooden casters on the feet) which is seldom found. I don't know the manufacturer and can find no label on it but judging from the quality of the cabinet and the hardware it could be Stickley. Limbert, or another comparable maker from the very early 1900's. All solid quarter sawn tiger oak throughout. No breaks or repairs. Nice original finish with only normal light surface wear. There is one pull missing on the bottom drawer. Measurements are 58" long. 57-1/4" tall to the top of the mirror, 43" height to the counter top, and 22-1/2" deep. These measurements include the 1-3/4" ... moreheight of the removable wooden foot casters. If you like the Arts& Crafts era furniture here's one with exceptional style and condition that is ready to set into your home. You are welcome to pick this up at my home in Massillon.
