Let me just mention that on my computer monitor I noticed that the paint appears to be a blue-gray in color and in reality. The paint is strictly a blue and a dark blue at that with no hint of gray. Well made with twenty four ribs on each side. It is in fair condition with several breaks in the splint in the bottom of the basket. The paint has moderate wear and there is an accumulation of years of dirt within the woven splint and I have not attempted to clean it. RARE& OUTSTANDING ANTIQUE SHAKER SWINH HANDLE PAIL/BUCKET ORIGINAL YELLOW/BLUE PAINT. DIAMOND BAIL PLATES. 19TH C. AAFA! Offered today is AN AUTHENTIC Antique 19th century SHAKER Pail/Bucket with swing handle and Diamond bail plates. And retaining its Original paint history of yellow over original Blue paint. Previous owner at some point"cleaned one stave of its 19th c. darkened varnish to reveal its original paint history of yellow over the original blue paint. The yellow paint is preserved under an old darkened varnish the flakes off. I have not attempted to remove the"varnish" from the rest of the pail, leaving that to the new owner if they so desire. Heavy gauge wire bail handle with turned maple hand hold. Heavy gauge metal"diamond" bale plates secure handle to sides of pail. Original metal bands surround ... morethe body, and end in"V-clipped" ends. Copper rivets secure the diamond bail plates to the body of the pail. Tongue and groove staved construction. Dating mid 19th century, ca; 1840-60 and probably of New Lebanon,NY community manufacture. Fresh from a longtime collection put together 40 years ago just a few miles down the road from Mt Lebanon, and guaranteed right as rain. Clean inside with age appropriate wear and patination. Condition is wonderful! used but not abused! You will look long and hard for a better example in this fine condition! Just Gorgeous and a wonderful example of Shaker craftsmanship! Antique MINIATURE BUTCHER BLOCK TABLE AAFA BLUE GREEN PAINT Primitive Folk Art
Description PLEASE"LIKE" FACEBOOK.COM/CYBERTRUNK I've had this beauty for a long time. New England, circa 1900-1930, solid Oak farmhouse table/milking bench/butcher block. Still dusty from the day I brought it home. Nicely shaped legs and top, dry Blue and Green paints with an old crackled varnish where it hasn't worn off. Original purpose unknown, there are several cleaver marks on top so maybe a butcher block, or milking bench. Bottoms of the feet are great and original, sometimes you find them shaved off. It's hefty at approx 12 lbs and measures approx 16" x 16" x 16" I don't mess with surfaces myself but a little wax and elbow grease would take this to the top.
