IRELAND - AUTHENIC 1910 ANTIQUE COLOR VINTAGE MAP
IRELAND- AUTHENIC ANTIQUE COLOR VINTAGE MAP This is an actual antique map. Not a modern reproduction. Source: Eleventh edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. Copyright: 1910 by Encyclopedia Britannica. Image Size: 10 5/8" x 15" Page Size: 11 3/4” x 16 1/4” Notes Nothing is printed on the back of this map. Contains folds as shown in photos. Paper has off-white antique patina. Paper is slightly slick like parchment paper that I bake on. And appears to be less porous than regular paper, and I'm guessing that's why this map is in such good condition while the other pages in the encyclopedia are not after 104 years. Encyclopedia Britannica reproduced this in 1910 from original colorprints by the Gill Engraving Co. NY. Appreciated by history and genealogy enthusiasts. I will ship this item in a photo mailer. Let me know if you ... morehave any questions and please see my other auctions for more antique and vintage maps.

NOTE: British Admiralty charts of this vintage are not only rare but extremely difficult to find in such excellent condition as this one. Many of the charts ... morein my collection have never actually been used and so are very clean. They were printed on heavy. Good quality cream-colored paper, folded neatly in half, and stored on board ships in heavy canvas folios. These are not copies or scans or reproductions. They are original charts created by the British Admiralty. The craft of the19th century British Admiralty charts was particularly beautiful and well-detailed. They are. In every sense, works of art. Compare them to modern nautical charts. Which give very little land detail, and you'll see the difference. Many of these charts include images of topographical features and landmarks, coastal elevations, and shoreline diagrams-drawings of how the shoreline would appear to navigators arriving on a ship. These diagrams usually include hills and mountains. Lighthouses, tall buildings, and towers. The charts also often show minute detail of ports and harbors. With streets, palm trees, huts, buildings, docks, jails, railway lines, and churches identified. For this reason many British Admiralty charts could act as land maps; they provide fascinating historical information about the location and its inhabitants. The United Kingdom Hydro
ANTIQUE BRITISH ADMIRALTY CHART MAP IRELAND WALES ARKLOW WEXFORD PEMBROKESHIRE
This vintage British Admiralty Decca nautical chart is titled"ST GEORGE'S CHANNEL. CARNSORE POINT TO BRAICH-Y-PWLL. Publication information: London. Published at the Admiralty, 1954. Small corrections to 1957. Chart# L(D3) 1410 Dimensions: 28" X 41" 71cm X 103cm) This gorgeous DECCA chart is in superb condition. It is nearly 70 years old and does not appear to ever have been used for navigation. It is clean and smooth. There are a few very tiny tears in the extreme bottom edge of the paper. Some wrinkling in the extreme upper right edge, and the extreme corners of the paper are a bit dog eared. None of this interferes with the intergity of the image. Please look at all 12 photos carefully, as most details, information, and flaws are visible in them. I am happy to answer any questions. International buyers, please read shipping ... moreinformation on the eBay invoice before you select shipping method. NOTE: British Admiralty charts of this vintage are not only rare but extremely difficult to find in such excellent condition as this one. Many of the charts in my collection have never actually been used and so are very clean. With streets, palm trees, huts, buildings, docks,
