Loud! ... moreThis was my favorite banjo for camping, as it is fairly light weight(4 lbs. 2 oz. and compact(34 3/4" overall) Scale length is approximately 25 1/4"For sale only because I have a son in college, and need the money. I will also be listing guitars and other banjos(see my Gretsch Historic Series G3161, semi-hollow body electric guitar, currently listed) Beautiful metal clad wood rim. With patina, 11" skin head, 24 brackets, beautiful pearl inlays, friction tuners with Ivoroid tuning knobs, no-knot tailpiece, 17 frets. Dowel stick has celluloid plate engraved"VICTOR" and the stick is stamped"GEM" and"GEO. C. DOBSON/ 290 SHAWMUT AVE/ BOSTON. MASS" 1-7/32" nut width. This banjo is playable. And I have played it a lot, but would benefit from work on the dowel, see photo number 9. Somewhere along the way, someone glued a piece on the dowel, undoubtedly, because the hole became to big where the bolt goes into the dowel(forgive my lack of technical expertise with the language, as I am not a banjo expert, just a player) Could be restored, or left the way it is. The banjo is currently set up with the Grover bridge, pictured, but I am including a taller bridge, not pictured, that will make playing easier. Bridge will be removed for shipping.
