The maps show quite a bit of detail and are nicely colored. It shows cities, rivers, mountain ranges, water bodies and longitudinal and latitude lines with London being the zero. IL. it is the oldest map in my collection. Mounted on a steel and hardwood spring-loaded roller frame, it is ready for hanging. The map is beginning to separate from the hardwood bar on either side(see photos) and the paper and fabric backing are yellowed and a bit brittle with age, but it is nearly a century old. The colours are soft pastels that would match any decor and it has great patina. Antique Frame of Ancient World Map in Gold and Black Gilt Frame "Stunning"
Up for your review is a gorgeous picture frame pre 1800 map of ancient globe. There is some writing on the canvas but in Latin. The borders are decorated with mermaids. Zeus, Roman Chariots. The frame itself has a gold gilt Greco Roman design which is quite beautiful. There is some writing at the top which I believe is Latin.
