The print shows the proposed route for the Lagan Canal from Belfast to Lough Neagh; the position of towns. Villages, mills, rivers and houses along the canal are shown together with the names of the mill owners and the land owners. An excellent example is Bevoir House owned by Lord Dungannon. Sheets approx 46x36cm with centrefolds as issued. Bright and clear. Troughs along the centrefolds(more marked on the Ireland map) with some mild discolouration; in borders tanned towards edges. Some mild soiling and some soft creasing; the odd speck. Versos blank and clean. T he maps will be posted rolled in a posting tube. Welcome to my auction for this rather lovely Vintage Tourist Map Booklet Of Dublin. Published by the Irish Tourist Association. Circa. 1930's, the booklet is fully titled' Map Of Dublin, Revised, Enlarged& Coloured with Alphabetical Index and Suggested Tours' Presented in titled green card covers. When opened there is the alphabetical listing booklet pasted in the left hand inner cover, and the fold out map pasted in the right. Condition. The front cover is sunned and the card a bit creased and dog-eared around the edges. The alphabetical index booklet is missing the bottom staple. The other rusted though not yet detrimental to the paper. The map. With all the adverts on the back, is basically superb, wonderful colour, still smooth and tidy, near enough immaculate. All told.
