This auction is for a neat vintage Mahogany Tea Cart or Tea Trolley with a neat removable serving tray from Scotland. It a neat two(2) tier cart. It's overall condition is good but it's not mint or excellent by any means. It's a functional cart that could serve as a printing stand as well as a rolling bar. It would add interest& charm to any room. It is 27" x 16" and 29 1/8" tall overall. The removable tray is 26 7/8" X 14 7/8" It's 18" between the shelves and the bottom shelf is 7 3/4" off the floor. It has some blemishes to it's finish such as light/dark spots as well as some nicks. Dings and scratches on the legs but all are in overall good condition and ready to set out and use and enjoy. It was popular with all of Europe's royalty during Renaissance and Victorian times. When seen under magnification. The coarseness of the finish of this 18th century amethyst tells us that it is obviously hand crafted. This is a lovely wall sconce that holds two candles. The design has four Scottish thistles in the center and scrolls out on each side to hold a candle or small votive cup. The candle stick bottom part looks like a torch. Reminiscent of the torch the Statue of Liberty holds. I believe that this is painted wrought iron or other heavy metal. Areas of wear to the paint in spots. Could easily be cleaned up and spray painted a color to match your décor. Mostly Fine The Andrew Macmillan Collection of Scottish Communion tokens About six years ago Andrew Macmillan’s Collection of Communion tokens was offered for sale in a series of auctions by Simmons and Simmons. The Scottish Series was offered as a single lot of nearly 5000. Which rather limited those who were prepared, or in a position, to bid. I think it was hoped that a museum or state institution would buy the collection and keep it intact. As it transpired I purchased the group. My initial intention was to keep the pieces together as I have always loved Communion tokens. I purchased them to enjoy in my retirement. ... moreSadly illness intervened and I have decided to offer them on Ebay over a period, and at the end intend to produce a priced and illustrated record. Some of the pieces simply do not scan well, particularly those that are white, but it is worth remembering that where pieces are worn, they are still the best example Andrew was able to acquire in decades of collecting. All pieces are sold with Andrew’s tickets. Which record the standard catalogue numbers(before Cresswell and Burzinski) The cost of the piece and the date of acquisition and the provenance. I have added to the ticket in some cases in pencil the Burzinski number and the name of the Minister. I am happy to hold purchases for some time to enable postal charges to be combined.
