Description. These fine vintage sterling silver sauceboats have a plain oval rounded form in the George III style. The body of each piece is embellished to one side with a bright cut engraved crest of a unicorn rising out of a coronet. Each sauceboat is ornamented with a scallop border. The sauceboats are fitted with a C scroll handle featuring a chased decorated acanthus leaf thumbpiece and scrolling bifurcating lower terminal. Each of these fine examples of Irish silverware is supported by three impressive applied hoof feet with stylised shell decorated sockets. In addition to the expected full Irish hallmarks. For bid is an original vintage IRISH DEFENSE FORCES military hat with cap badge. Several feathers and outer hat ribbons. I’m guessing this hat is from the 1950’s or thereabouts. It appears to be some kind of military hat. The cap badge bears the“FF” letters for“ Fianna Fáil” translating to“ Soldiers of Destiny” and on the outer ring are the following Celtic letters: Óglaiġ na h-Éireann" translating to“ Irish Volunteers. The top has the typical coloured poker work(see below) With the different shields representing The Four Provinces of Ireland. Irish Ebony D flute made by Dave Williams – Rare!
This flute has silver plated rings with a brass slidehead and was constructed with a Pratten pattern as a keyless. 6 hole IrishFlute. The wood is Ebony– somewhat rare these days- like the old keyed flutes. This flute is pitched in D, with a tuning slide and extended foot. The cork is in good shape, no cracks or splits so you can play right away. I purchased this at Lark in Morningin about 1988. However despite my best efforts I never was able to put in allthe time necessary and ended up playing my string instruments instead. So it is time togo to someone who will use it. No reserve. Each card is sold individually, Very Good or better condition, with minor edge wear, possible minor soil due to age and handling, minor rounding of corners, but overall very good condition with no creases.
