The square rail's are mortised and were pegged into the headboard and footboard. The bed will require some restoration and modification for use. The rails will need to be lag bolted to the head and foot boards. The bed is disassembled for easy transport. It is in good shape for it's age. Europe became acquainted with a wolf man. A 55 year old Russian man named Adrian Jefticheiev, covered in hair, began to appear at various exhibitions. He was accompanied by his equally hairy illegitimate son. The‘Wild Man from the Kostroma Forest’ was billed as being the product of an affair between a bear and a Russian peasant woman. In reality he was a man afflicted with hypertrichosis very much like his predecessor Petrus Gonzales. However, while Gonzales was a gentle civilized soul trapped within an animalistic body Adrian lived up to his wild appearance. Early in his life, Adrian fled his village and became something of a forest hermit. His taste for alcohol spiraled out of control and he was, by all accounts, a cruel drunk. Many visitors to his exhibition were disgusted by his unkempt and debauched appearance. His appearance was in stark contrast to that of his toddler son, Fedor. Do not know if this is an actual poster or a newspaper clipping. I just got this off an older gent who said he thought it came out of a newspaper but was not sure himself. Paper appears very old indeed. As well as the square nails on the back holding it in. There is some water damage on the bottom, but very minor. Take a look at this early and rare Ringling Bros poster. The poster measures 24 inches x 18 inches including the border. The illustrations of 20 different animals is wonderful. The colors are just outstanding. This is mounted to some type of foam cardboard. That is 1/2 inch deep. The corners are worn. There is water damage and stains to the surface. Even with the water damage the colors are very crisp and bright. Please see the pictures. I haven't tried to clean or restore this in any way. I acquired this from a local estate sale in Western New York. The bottom says that this is copyrighted in 1909 by the Strobridge Litho Co. Cincinnati& New York. This is an absolutely fabulous rare original poster. It would be wonderful displayed as is. Or cleaned by a professional. In 1957 changed the circus from using their own portable tents to using venues. Such as sports stadiums that had the seating already in place. In 1967 bought the circus. But in 1971 he sold it to. He bought it back in 1982. In 1884. Five of the seven had started a small circus about the same time that Barnum& Bailey were at the peak of their popularity. Similar to dozens of small circuses that toured the Midwest and the Northeast at the time. The Ringlings moved their circus from town to town in small animal-drawn caravans. Their circus rapidly grew and they were soon able to move their circus by. Which allowed them to have the largest traveling amusement enterprise of that time. Bailey's European tour gave the Ringling brothers an opportunity to move their show from the Midwest to the eastern seaboard. Her nursing school and clinic in Brussels was taken over by the Red Cross. She became a victim of German savagery in Belgium. When she was shot after summary trial. She was accused of helping British and Belgium fugitives. Her death triggered international outrage. This is a wonderful 20.5"x26.75" circus poster of the Ringling Bros and Barnum& Bailey. It features the Incredible Unus. The Talk of the Universe. It is an original poster, and it looks to be from the 1940s. I am not sure, though, because there is no date listed. I purchased this with another Ringling Bros and Barnum& Bailey poster from 1945. It looks to be from around that same time, though again I cannot be sure because there is no date listed. The poster has very noticeable wear from handling and use, including discoloration; edge wear, including folding, creasing, and staining around the edges; a crease and scruffing on the upper right; a crease on the lower right; partial residue of another piece of paper on the bottom edge; and a tear on the left side and the bottom. The poster is in acceptable condition overall. This is a wonderful 20.25"x28" circus poster of the Ringling Bros and Barnum& Bailey. It is an original poster from 1945. The poster has wear from handling and age. But surprisingly little given its age. There is an impact crease and tear on the bottom right corner, as well as general edge wear. There is another small crease on the upper left corner, as well as some minor creases on the left side. Most of the"wear" including most of the"creases" and"discoloration" visible in the photos is only on the protective plastic covering the poster, not the actual poster itself. This is a wonderful 16.5"x30" 1917 WWI Liberty Loan poster. It is original. Not a reproduction. The previous owner put cardboard backing behind it and covered it in protective plastic; I did not remove the poster from this for fear of damaging it. The poster has noticeable wear from handling and use. The upper right corner is missing, and there is creasing. This is most evident on the bottom, where there are long creases running across the bottom. There is creasing in other areas as well. I purchased a Bunch of posters and Oil Clothes like t h ese f rom an individual. i was told they were from the turn of the century. So here they are up for sale. This is a really nice rare Oil Cloth or Linen Poster. guessing its from the Turn of the century. It is in good shape for its age but does have some stain through out the poster as shown in pics. It measures around1 4" wide and is 9" tall. There are rough edges as well as shown in the pics. I have not tried to clean the poster in anyway and will NOT try either.
