Antique Poster Bed, Dated 1843, Handmade
This is a very early poster bed. I believe in cherry, with four beautiful finials. Someone has stenciled the date January 26, 1843 on the inside of the bed Rail. It will need slats to support a boxsprings. I have had people try to convince me this was an early rope bed. But there's no sign of the posts that the rope would be connected to. This bed was entirely handmade. The round supports on the bottom were actually threaded and screwed into the post. The widest measurement inside the bed rails is 48 inches. The length is 75+ inches. This is the finest antique bed I have ever had. The patina is wonderful. I would prefer not to ship it. But would consider shipping if the buyer made all the shipping arrangements. Posted with

Here is a wonderful. Rare vintage casket/ coffin advertisement from a mortuary/ funeral home. I was told it came from the first female mortician of Massachusetts. I am not sure when- I would guess early to mid 20th century. The frame measures about 23.75 x 27.75-inches along the outside. It is dark. Glazed wood. The image is in wonderful condition. I assume it is hand made, though it may be printed. It reads, A Casket is a lasting shrine not utilized solely for display. How true. The coffin pictured certainly looks cozy. The work is really incredible, making a truly unique, morbid display piece. It will ship in a TV box. Well padded, via FedEx Ground, insured. Local pick-up is also welcome. We are very pleased to offer this rare. ORIGINAL, World War I, Soldier's Service Record official document. This beautiful document has a copyright by H.H. Stratton, Chattanooga, TN, 1917. It is illustrated and signed by A.F. Harlow, and he noted Del. 1917 under his signature. Based on our research, these documents are very rare and this one is in exceptional condition. The service record is for Horace McKinley(after the president) Bird of Johnson County. Missouri. It states that Mr. Bird served in the United States Army from May 7, 1917 to March 21, 1919. Mr. Bird's records can be verified at ancestry.com. Mr. Bird was born on March 24, 1897 in Johson County, Missouri and died in October of 1976. Mr. Bird's photograph in uniform is included on the certificate as is his signature. Mr. Bird served during the notorious"Trench ... moreWarfare" era of this World War and was one of the blessed survivors. This document is absolutely beautiful. It is elaborate in its illustrations and features portraits of Generals Pershing(USA) Haig(England) and Foch(France) on the top section. King Albert and Russian General Brussilof are featured in portraits on the lower section. All the portraits are bordered in a metallic gold gilt with the same medium used on the hats and uniform details. There are illustrations of their armies under each portrait as well. The portraits are"held" by cloaked women who are suspened above the portraits. They appear to be some sort of angelic Lady Liberty and are also in county specific attire. The lower section of the document features a pyramid of US Army Commanders. These include Wood. Bell, Parker, Liggett, Edwards and Barry. The balance of this illustrated document feature battle scenes, both on the ground and in the air. Hello. This is a 1962 Kenworthy Educational Service pull down chart with original shipping tube. The chart is in good condition, but a bit fragile. It has a few tears and rips as per pictures. I didn't unroll the top all the way in photos because it was sticking a bit, but it will go farther. Has metal and wooden rollers which are original. Yellow tape at bottom applied years ago. The poster depicts a scene from the'Red Chamber' A classic Chinese romance story. The name of the company. Nan Yang Brothers Tobacco Company, appears in Chinese in the middle of the poster. Two packets of cigarettes, Ngai Guo and Shon Hee brands on top left corner. The artist's name and date of the poster written in Chinese inside the painting on the poster. The date of 1924 also appears on the lower left corner. The metal rods and the cloth loop are intact. The poster is in excellent condition except for a couple of small holes and a little stain in the bottom. The poster was printed by stone printing or lithograph. Oferring an unusual. American 19th C. Cast Bronze Hardware with just the remains of the original Gilt. These are 4 Antique Cast Bronze Bolt-Covers for an Antique Poster Bed. Originaly gilded with Gold, but presently just traces of the Gilding remains. The cast detail is great. The condition of the metal is original. The original gilt is still clearly visible on the rear of the bolt covers, but there are very little traces of the gold remaining on the front. Selling in as is condition. Size: 3" long x 2.25" wide. 1928 Antique Chinese Cigarette Poster Signed & Dated Guaranteed Genuine
1928 Chinese poster advertising cigarettes. Guaranteed genuine. The poster features a lady wearing a colourful minority outfit. The name of the company- Nan Yang Bro. Tobacco Company Limited appears on top of the poster. Two packets of cigarettes. The Pearls and the Lucky Choice brand appear on the right hand side. On the bottom is advertising slogan of: Please smoke Pearls and Lucky Choice brands of cigarettes. The metal rod on top and on the bottom and the cloth loop for hanging are all there. Small damages as can be seen on the back of the poster. The top left hand side of the rod separated from the paper. Artist signature and the date 1928 in Chinese written under the name. The poster was printed by stone printing or lithograph. The quality is excellent as you can see clearly the wordings printed on the cigarette package. These posters ... morewere given away as decorations for homes. They were printed every new year in the early 1900s. They were not items for keepsake so many didn't survive. Measurement: 76 cm x 58 cm'Most of my collection is one of a kind. I bought the items because I liked it for myself. They were never intended to be resold. Each item has a story and when possible I hand carried in my luggage from all over the world to bring back to Australia. Some of the items have travelled a long way away and some of the items has been with me for 65 years. I am now retired and need to downsize. It looks like someone folded this poster up and never touched it. The colors are magnificent and the paper has held up very well over the years. The poster has no pin holes or tape on it, it was never displayed. I took very detailed pictures of the poster and its small cosmetic flaws.
