Also looks like a Double Irish Chain, pattern light and dark quilt that is all hand stitched, and hand quilted, measuring 72 1/2" x 83 1/2" with each small square measuring 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" Quilt is made from early cotton fabrics of calico. Nice colors of blue/grey. Mustard yellow, red, Backing is an old tan plaid homespun sack cloth. Quilt is hand quilted in fence rail. This is an UNFINISHED quilt top with no batting or backing fabric. I think the pattern is called Irish Chain but not sure. It is done in blue and pink vintage fabrics. M easures 70”X90” I am trying to describe everything as thoroughly as possible please email if you have any questions before bidding: Where this came from…My 98 year old grandmother passed away recently and our family is going through her things. She quilted for most of her life and we have stacks of finished quilts to keep in her memory. We have decided to list her unfinished projects. And unused fabric as well as some other items from her estate. The fabric is vintage and antique. To give you an idea how old the fabrics are. My 50+ year old sister and I remember having clothes made of a lot of the fabrics when we were young. The last half of her life Grandma stayed rather close to home not venturing out much. As a result she did not purchase much fabric later in life so almost everything she had was vintage. This is a beautiful antique silver. Past Master's jewel from St. John's Masonic Lodge No. 88, Irish Constitution. Presented 1897. St. John's is the oldest working lodge in Northern Ireland. Fully marked and tested for silver. Pin fastening for lapel. Maker was D.W. Corry. Belfast. A well known silversmith of the time. The family are still in the jewelry trade in Belfast. HUGE ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN IRISH SHAMROCK, SILVER PLATED, AMETHYST & PYRITE BRACELET
Very unusal costume bracelet. Dating from the late Victorian/ early Edwardian period. This piece is quite crudely made, with rough pieces of pyrite in the shape of shamrocks, spaced with cut amethyst beads. The mounts are silver plated, and it is quite a dark silver colour. The bracelet is quite chunky, approx. 4.8cm wide at the widest point. It will only fit a small wrist size, as it is approx. 17.2cm in length. Condition: There are lines in some of the pyrite. Although I think this is original, as the pyrite is quite roughly fitted into the shamrock mounts. Its a little tarnished but the clasp is in good working order and its very wearable.
