This is an original page from 1894, not a reprint or copy. Because the page is double-sided, only one side can be displayed at once. However, there are no copyright restrictions on the maps so one of the sides could be copied if you'd like to display both. Condition: Good. Aging around the margins, which just adds to the appeal of the old map. The paper is fairly fragile, so map page will need to be protected from less than careful handling. Antique Kevin Barry Irish Republican Army Patriot Hand Coloured Etching Ireland
Antique Hand Etched Kevin Barry Art Piece Hand Crafted Frame Must have been a labour of Love. Never seen another like this. Kevin Barry was an 18 year old medical student executed following an ambush on British troops in Dublin in which one soldier is killed. On the morning of 20 September 1920. Kevin Barry went to Mass and received Holy Communion, he then joined a party of IRA volunteers on Bolton Street in Dublin. Their orders were to ambush a British army truck as it picked up a delivery of bread from a bakery and capture their weapons. The ambush was scheduled for 11AM, which gave him enough time to take part in the operation and return to UCD in time for a Medical examination he had at 2PM. Captured at the scene, Barry was court martialled and hanged in Mountjoy Jail November 1st 1920. He was the first Republican to be executed since ... morethe leaders of the Easter Rising of 1916. The execution of Barry led to a swell of support for the Independence struggle, both nationally and internationally. This is a fabulous and wonderfully unique Art Deco rhinestone brooch. It was made in the 1930s and features a shield shaped focal suspended from a bow styled pin. It is encrusted with clear and Topaz colored rhinestones. The central Emerald colored stone is made of foil backed glass. The pin has a'c' type closure. This is a wonderful antique photograph which was taken on the occasion of the"Royal Visit To Ireland. April 1900" It shows Her Majesty Queen Victoria embarking on the Royal Yacht at Holyhead. She is sitting in a wheelchair and being pushed down the gangplank by a turbaned servant. The photographer was J. Wickens, F.R.P.S. and it was processed at a studio in Bangor, North Wales.
