This Montreal city map is copyrighted 1893. It is from a 1895 Rand McNally Enlarged Business Atlas. It measures close to 28 X 20 inches. McNally did not update their maps every year in this atlas. Would look fantastic framed under glass. Shadows seen are my scanner. Not the map. According to worldcat.org. There are only a few maps in the reference collections from this atlas. There are no McNally Enlarged Business Atlases dated 1895, so the maps are a treasure to behold, and great investment. An antique map of Canada from an atlas published in the late 19th Century. One side has Ontario. And the other side has British Columbia, Northwest Territories, and Manitoba. This is an original page from 1894, not a reprint or copy. Because the page is double-sided, only one side can be displayed at once. However, there are no copyright restrictions on the maps so one of the sides could be copied if you'd like to display both. Condition: Good. Lots of dark aging around the margins. Which just adds to the appeal of the old map. The paper is fairly fragile(its over 110 years old! so map page will need to be protected from less than careful handling. Note: the page was just a bit too big for the scanner, so part of the margin area is not shown. Map has two nicks in Downward margin caused by string that bound map in atlas. Paper shows normal aging and is still supple. Not stiff where it would crack at slightest bump. Copyright is 1897. This map would look fantastic framed under glass. Shows many towns and locations that no longer exist. A true historical item. Investment quality. 1757 Bellin Map- Carte de L'Accadie J.N. Bellin provided a huge number of maps for L'Abbe Prevost's'Histoire Generale des Voyages' A 25 volume plus work describing the discoveries, journeys and settlements of seventeenth and early eighteenth century European powers. Many of these maps were issued in Dutch and German as well as French. This map of Acadia. Then a centre of French culture before the expulsions of the 1760s and 1770s, comes from a 1757 French edition of"Histoire. It shows modern day Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and part of New Brunswick. It is one of the earliest maps to show the city of Halifax, constructed by the British in 1749. Counties, towns, and list of railroads with names; relief shown by hachures. Condition: Paper has aged evenly and looks dull. Route colors are still bright. Overall, in almost mint condition.
