Detailed Lake Maps of Lake Kabetogama and Lake Geneva (Minn. & Wisconsin)
Bought these when I was younger fishing these Lakes on vacation. The Lake Kabetogama(in northern Minnesotta) map is in excellent condition. No rips. Tears or stains and it's waterproof. The Lake Geneva(in Walworth Co. Wisconsin) map is in good condition with some minor rips on the bottom.

Both are in very good shape. The Rainy Lake map was published by the International Falls Chamber of Commerce. There is no date on it but I believe it is about the same vintage as the other map. 1850 Maps STANSBURY Utah GREAT SALT LAKE Fort Leavenworth MORMON West EXPEDITION
Washington: Department of the Army. 1850. 2 maps of an expedition now known as The Stansbury Expedition. Bound together into a hardcover book. Bound in slightly sunfaded cloth with gilt title and stamped design, as shown in nice shape with hinges intact and minimal wear, gilt still shining. Both maps were created under order of J.J. Albert by Capt. Howard Stansbury, and were assisted by Lt. J. W. Gunnison and Albert Carrington. The maps were drawn by Lt. J. W.Gunnison and Charles Preus. The maps were created during the two year expedition from Ft. Leavenworth. Kansas westward to evaluate emigration trails and scout for possible railroad routes. In a meeting with Mormon leader, Brigham Young, Albert Carrington was added to the expeditions as Young's representative. These maps are quite valuable and important to the regions discovery and ... moresettlement. Dating on the maps is 1849 to 1850. This was the first extensive survey of the Great Basin and a major landmark in the cartography of the American West. In 1846 Stansbury"received the orders for the cornerstone of his career: the expedition to the Great Salt Lake in 1849-1850. On 31 May 1849 Stansbury left Fort Leavenworth with eighteen men. Including Lieutenant John W. Gunnison, artist John Hudson, and Albert Carrington, a leading Mormon official. The company proceeded by way of South Pass in Wyoming to Fort Bridger, where Stansbury engaged Jim Bridger as a guide for the expedition. Dividing his men into two groups, Stansbury explored a new route to the Great Salt Lake by following a path between the Bear River and Echo Canyon trails. The expedition members spent the winter of 1849-1850 in Salt Lake City as guests of the Mormon population there. This, the most intricate part of Stansbury's mission, required diplomacy and tact. Since the Mormon state of Deseret(meaning"honeybee" was the only legally incorporated civil government in that area from 2 July 1849 through 5 February 1851, Stansbury and his men were to some extent visiting a foreign coun

Up for auction is a vintage collection of lake survey maps featuring Lake Saint Clair. These were purchased at an estate sale. These are marked"CORPS OF ENGINEERS U.S. ARMY" There is a 1967 Great Lakes Deep-Draft Harbors map. And 1969 Lake Saint Clair map(chart no. 42) and a 1968 Chart No. 41 featuring the Detroit River. These maps have never been taken out of this binder(binder measures approx. 12" x 17" These would be nice framed and displayed.great conversation piece! These maps I believe are from around 1920. I could not find a date. They are printed and mounted on linen. The London one has separated into two pieces and has some other areas of separation on the folds. Has two small holes, but is complete. They all show age discoloration on the outside covers but the maps still have good color. Railroad system maps as follows: Page 1: The eastern lines of the Great Northern System showing connections east and south. Map measures about 5.875" x 7.875" The San Pedro. Los Angeles, and Salt Lake Railroad dated Valentines Day 2-14-19)07. About 6" x 5" See history in photo 4. The line operated under this name from 1901-1916 and was know as the"Salt Lake Route" The main line was completed in 1905, 2 years before the map was published. Vintage 1932 Idaho, Utah Highway Maps & Salt Lake City W Advertising & pictures
1932 map of IDAHO and UTAH including SALT LAKE CITY. Seeing the ad for the WHITE CAFE. In IDAHO, I guess the Arian Nation was there in 1932. All White help, good home cooking by women cooks" Wonder if they are still in business? The rest of the map is full of other outdated ads- all electric and one even brags about having radios! All the phone numbers are only 3 digits. There is 2 tiny spots where the folds intersect and it has tiny holes worn. Inside is clean, outside 2 pages(covers) have gotten dirty. All original. Would be great framed. Measures 22" wide x 17" tall. Happy to ship foreign for actual postage. If you need more photos or have questions, just let me know.
