Up for your consideration is this 5 wine glasses and tray carved from alabaster. probably Italian. These are in perfect condition. No cracks, no chips, no crazing with the exception of one which has a chip on the foot. I have photographed it top and bottom. The age is unknown. Each wine glass measures 4" high x 3" diameter with a 2.35" diameter base. The rectangular tray measures 11.75" x 8" x 1" It is a beautiful white and off white color alabaster with vaines of color through out. pre packaged weight is 5 pounds 6 ounces. Antique Italian Marble/Alabaster Bust Circa 1890 -1900, Beautifully Handcarved!
A wonderful hand carved antique statue depicting a beautiful young woman wearing a distinctive traditional peasant wear. Her carved face is like an angel. It's an elegant hand-crafted art object. This is an antique by age circa 1890-1900. I inherited it from family and the estate recorded it as circa 1800s to early 1900s. The paper work stated it was a white marble bust(no mention of alabaster) and no recorded artist. It could be alabaster without the porousness. The base is marble slab with grey and black veining. The face. Hair, hair covering and clothing were carved with precise details and you can see the tooling marks that were made before any carving began. There is no damage on this piece that I can tell. In one image there could be a little chip but it looks like it was there from the beginning. See 5th pic) Wonderful antique ... morecondition. Vintage Italian Alabaster Stone/Marble Grape Cluster on Vine 2" D.Grapes 10lbs
Here is a very unique stone/marble grape cluster of 3 different size marbles. The largest ones at the top are 2 1/4" in D. the others are 1 3/4" 1 1/2" This is a very colorful cluster of various hues of green& yellow. It weighs over 10 lbs- is 15" from end of stem to end of cluster and is 26" at its widest point. The marbles are connected very solidly to what I believe is an actual grape vine. One of the marbles has a very small surface crack/chip& you can see normal wear between some of the marbles. Feel free to ask questions or give info. Thanks

Hi. You are bidding on a beautiful BEAUTIFUL and super realistic group of 10 stone fruit from Italy. These are made of Italian marble. They are old. And a few are missing the wooden plugs or have some other age issues, but overall I think you will love them. The ones missing the wooden plugs have been replaced with plastic stems. But can be easily removed. I think that if you collect stone fruit you will be very happy with this collection.

A peach, a golden apple(no stem) an orange(with stem) a yellow pear(no stem) and a gorgeous bunch of black or dark purple grapes(with wood stem attached) For a total of six pieces, a great starter set. The realistic detail on these is amazing(the banana has"over-ripe" spots like a real banana would get from sitting out, the peach has a dark blush"bruise" they look so real. Vintage Alabaster Marble Stone Fruit Bookends Italian
This auction is for a pair of bookends which consists of alabaster/ stone fruit on a marble base. The bookends are 4.5 inches long. 3.5 inches wide and 5.25 inches tall.The corners of the marble have some where and one is a little chipped. The each bookend has a whole pear with wood stem, a sliced pear in front, banana, what looks like a strawberry with stem and leaves,and a yellow apple or apricot with stem. On the other bookend this piece is off white with no stem. One banana isn't very yellow and has a black mark on it. Some wear, knicks on the fruit but nothing bad. They weigh 5.5 lbs without box.

It measures about 12" diameter. 6" tall with a 4"+ diameter base. The bowl has natural inclusions and is in good shape with normal age wear. The bowl is sturdy and looks perfect with the fruit. There are 19 pieces of alabaster stone fruit. The lot includes two marked pieces with stickers that read"Alabaster Stone. Hand Made Italy" The other label reads:Genuine Alabaster Stone Handcarved By Firm Prof G. Bessi, the city name is hard to make out, Italy" The lot includes 4 nectarines, 2 figs, 1 pear, 2 oranges, 2 grapes(with plastic stems) 1 cherry, 1 lemon, 2 peaches and a watermelon slice. All pieces have wear from age, with scrapes& dings, but ... moredisplay nicely in the bowl. Some fruit appear older than the others. Very nice set and don't come for auction together with the bowl. Beautiful alabaster and marble bust of BEATRICE by noted Italian Sculptor Prof. G. Bessi(1857-1922) Signed‘Prof. G. Bessi’ on the back of the bust and incised"Made in Italy"Alabaster face and drapery. Marble pedestal with inscription‘BEATRICE’ Beatrice’ looks downward with delicacy and grace. The sculpture impresses with a sensible combination of alabaster and marble. Beatrice is a character from the literary works of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri. Giuseppe Bessi(1857-1922) Giuseppe Bessi was one of the most important exponents of the Salon sculpting. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. In 1879. He opened a workshop in Volterra and produced sculptural works from alabaster, marble, onyx and bronze. He also crafted everyday objects such as chess sets and lamps. In his works, he combined forms of neo-classicism and Art Nouveau. From 1891 to 1910, Bessi worked as a director of the Art Academy of Volterra. The university is the only art school for alabaster works in the world. Bessi’s works were already internationally in demand during his lifetime, especially in the early 20th century, when numerous replicas of his works were created. Today, works by Bessi are part of major museum collections, including the St. Petersburg Hermitage. A large collection of his work is exhibited in the Ecomuseo dell'Alabastro in Volterra.
