India where the original Peacock Throne was once housed. Now the Agra Fort is one of the World Heritage Sites of India. The name comes from the shape of a throne. The tribal mask is quite large with its biggest dimension measuring a whopping 23 inches. The wood shows wear of age indicating it to be quite an older piece. The piece is signed in the front with the artist initials"M.F. The piece is very finely done. On verso of the bronze there is script writing. The photographs capture the script. The piece is in fine shape. Guaranteed to be a true antique! The family tells me that they believe that the artist M.F. was a family member. Up for sale is a piece of somewhat family history. This portrait is of the Murray family from Norristown. Pa. This was taken in the late 19th century. The only reason I can part with it is that my Great Aunt Florence was related to my family thru marriage. This is her family. Great Aunt Florence is the one standing next to her mother, hanging on her arm. As a child, I remember her as do my siblings and my 14 cousins as, well, lets just say, something else! She died in the early 1960's. My Great Uncle John Grady, her 2nd husband and my blood relative, died in 1974, when I was 16 years old. I have had this portrait since I was 16 and now I am 55. It is time for Great Aunt Florence and her family to move on as I am downsizing. The frame is oak and original. The glass was broken when i received this portrait. Up for sale is a very beautiful hand inlaid English cribbage game box with pieces circa mid 19th century. The box is in great condition. I think the hinges have been replaced but not sure about that. The inlay is terrific! The interior is original with some staining. It has a small compartment in the middle with a lid on it to hold the game pieces. It comes with 2 decks of cards. Not original, and 4 playing pieces. Not knowing anything about cribbage, I don't know if all of the pieces are present. The box measures 11 3/8" long x 4" deep x 2 1/4" tall. Thank you for your interest in this Gorgeous Lacquer Betel Nut Box with 2 nesting bowls inside. The piece was made in Burma probably in the late 19th century. It is in great condition with no damage whatsoever. It is beautifully etched and painted and features the traditional red and black lacquer. The bottom of the piece is also decorated as are the bottoms of the two nesting bowls. This is a really nice piece and small enough to be a perfect point of interest to any collector's home. With scraping to the edges of the tray, and perhaps slight darkening of the textile. However. The underside of the glass is soiled and it is difficult to determine. For sale is a unique Pietra Dura. Gilded metal candle holder with a secret compartment. The stone base is in very good condition with some minor pitting and small nicks as seen in the photographs. The inlaid stones are exqusitely crafted without cracks, nicks or chips. The gilded metal finish on the cherub-like figure and the drip disc below the candle holder have an aged patina and is noticeably worn as seen in the photographs but otherwise shows no damage. The candle holder is tightly attached to the base without wobble. The door of the secret compartment is secure and tightly closes. The base is approximately 5 1/2” wide and the height is approximately 9 1/2” tall. In 1905 our grandfather Carlo Perantoni began a business of importing Italian wines to Lwow Leopolis in Eastern Poland. Where he also owned and operated the"Winiarnia Italia Inn" wine& pasta tavern. Some years after WW1 the Italian Consulate in Warsaw nominated Carlo Perantoni as the Honorary Vice Consul for Italian Foreign Affairs in South Eastern Poland, by the authority of King Victor Emmanuel III. During the years of his appointment Carlo kept a Consulate Substation Open Office(at one end of the wine bar) consisting of a desk, a small filing cabinet, and an Italian flag on a pole. This statue of the"Leone di San Marco" decorated his desktop, and a 19th century painting of Medieval Verona hung on the ... morewall behind the desk next to the flagpole, as a backdrop of his open office. Carlo continued his honorary appointment for more than 20 years, all through the rise of Mussolini and Fascism, until the day he evacuated his family back to Italy from Poland at the onset of Nazi Germany's attack 1 September 1939. This"Leone di San Marco" statue is made of an unknown solid metal. It is very heavy. Weighing 3,445 grams(that's almost 3.5 kilos, about 7.6 pounds) It never tarnishes and it shows no signs of corrosion. It has never been buffed, polished, nor shined, and no chemicals nor other materials have ever been applied to the statue nor to its dark granite base. Heavy Antique Cranberry Cut Crystal and Pewter Tankard from the last half of the 19 th century bears a beautifully detailed cut image of a resting stag. Showing antlers and musculature. Around the top of the glass tankard is a cut festoon border. The pewter lid attaches to the thick. Clear crystal handle. The tankard measures 4-3/4 inches tall and 3-5/8 inches diameter at the base. With the lid in place it measures 6 inches tall at the tip of the lever. Given two chips at the very base of the handle and scratches on the bottom from use. 19th Century Brass Decorative Frame with Oak Leaves and Acorns
This lovely 19th Century decorative frame is composed of a wreath of oak leaves and acorns tied at the bottom with a bow. The oval center has two holes for mounting a central object. The piece measures 7 1/2 inches long by 5 1/4 inches wide. the central oval is approximately 1 1/2 inches by 2 1/4 inches. The back looks like it fit on a stand.
