ONE OF A KIND! THIS BOX IS VERY LARGE AND MEASURES 32.5" IN LENGTH AND 13.5" IN HEIGHT. We recently purchased this beautiful piece at a family auction in Iowa. This extraordinary item was sold by the family to which it had belonged since around 1900. The piece was a treasured item of a Mr. Charles Mrzlack of Hammond. Indiana. Mr. Mzlack was a shoe cobbler who repaired shoes for the Chicago Bears for many years. This box had belonged to his father, who was also a cobbler and was given to his father by his mother. This ornamental and fully functional box is a shoe shine kit The beautiful box is a sturdy hand made wood with very ornately hammered and patterned copper overlay. The box features a miniature cobblers shoe mold on the top as the handle. The box extends in width with graduated sections which house the antique glass bottles/jars. ... moreThe jars have very ornate copper tops. The jars are very old. Pre-1900, with lots of air bubbles in the very thick glass. The outer curved sections of the box are hinged and open fully with deep storage. The back of the box has locked compartments(the very old key is included) One compartment is a drawer which pulls out, the other is a fold down compartment. The box is in incredible. Antique condition. It has been very well cared for. It is completely original except for the underside shelf(not visible) which seems to be a particle board replacement. The carving is exquisite, even on the back side of the box, which is NOT copper covered. There are not enough words to describe the beautiful patterning to the copper. It varies from an intricate floral, very Art Nouveau pattern on the front center, to a more Arts and Crafts pattern on the curved and side sections. The copper overlay is completely secure with no loose sections. The glass jars. there are 12 included) are also in great condition. Eleven of the jars are 4.25" tall with 1.5" top fitter openings. Vintage Dutch Windmill Print from the early 1900's(not sure of exact date) by Jacob Izaakszoon van Ruisdael called the"Tower Mill at Wijk bij Duurstede. Netherlands 1670. Wood frame is in good condition. The glass has a few scratches(note below windmill in front of girls and in the left upper section of sky and to left of the windmill blades which looks like damage to the print but it's actually a scratch in the glass) The scratches are hardly visible when the picture is hanging on the wall but the flash from the camera has highlighted them. The Sun was shining through the window behind me so there are funny lighted areas on the picture. The back used to have a paper backing but has disappeared over time. Antonio; Catania, Sicily Theme is Christopher Columbus This is not a full size cart. But appears to be one that was used to either carry a couple of small children; these were also used for fairs and events to display/vend goods. Measurements: 37" wide x 60" long x 27" high; wheels are 22" Overall good condition with the exception of a full length crack down the center of the inside design(may be seen in photo) also a few other much smaller cracks consistent with age and use. There is an abundance of beautiful detail ~ loaded with carvings also.there is a head carved into each spindle and also in all spoke centers. There is not even one square inch that is not either artist painted ... moreor carved. You could spend an entire day staring at this and still miss details. It is obviously done by a serious artist.in this case. There were probably two artists(as noted above) Each panel is painted with a different scene and each is beautifully and professionally done with lots and lots of great detail! Antique Black & Gold Hand Fan, Circa 1900
This is a very unusual fan- haven't seen one like it. The black silk leaf is in perfect condition. Decorated with gold spangles. The sticks are wood, painted gold. There are round wooden circles on top of the leaf, matching the design on the lower sticks. The washer is MOP, the loop is brass, and the black and gold tassel is really pathetic, but I left it in. If you want to keep it, that's fine. The only problem(besides the tassel) is that one of the round circles on top(in the middle of the fan- see photo 4) has been glued. The fan measures 8-1/2" long and 15" wide when open.

Antique Italian Marble/Alabaster Bust Circa 1890 -1900, Beautifully Handcarved!
A wonderful hand carved antique statue depicting a beautiful young woman wearing a distinctive traditional peasant wear. Her carved face is like an angel. It's an elegant hand-crafted art object. This is an antique by age circa 1890-1900. I inherited it from family and the estate recorded it as circa 1800s to early 1900s. The paper work stated it was a white marble bust(no mention of alabaster) and no recorded artist. It could be alabaster without the porousness. The base is marble slab with grey and black veining. The face. Hair, hair covering and clothing were carved with precise details and you can see the tooling marks that were made before any carving began. There is no damage on this piece that I can tell. In one image there could be a little chip but it looks like it was there from the beginning. See 5th pic) Wonderful antique ... morecondition. Aunteri's Rare Finds Hand Decorated Paper Wood Macrame Antique Hand Fan Filled w/Decals Early 1900's. Very unique souvenir of travels. Schools, friends and life has a hand painted"river" with the names and dates of people on one side, but both sides of the paper fan are absolutely filled with tiny decals/stickers of dozens and dozens of schools, sites and monograms. The ribs are wooden, and the end pieces are held together with simple macrame, with a lovely loop and tassel at the bottom. Only one section on the paper fan seems to have lost some of the painstakingly assembled mementos. Most of the dates I found were from 1903 to 1909. There are some tears in the paper at some of the folds, and the paper has yellowed, but the fan has held together remarkably well for its age and the journeys it must have made. This lovely old box actually comes from my own family estate. It's been in the family for around 100 years and was used by my Great Grandmother to keep her dollies in. The lid lifts via the central hole. I've studied it very carefully and the repeating rose. Leaf& trellis pattern is not identical. This is a beautiful hand fan with purple flowers painted all over and down onto the bone sticks. The right guard is also painted. The washers are MOP and the loop is brass. The silk had started to split in a couple of places so I had a conservator line the back of the fan with gauze. The fan is 9-1/2" long and 17-1/2 wide.

Tbis is an adorable fontage Art Nouveau hand fan with light brown celluloid sticks and guards. The loop is brass. Across the top of the fan are gold sequins. There is a split down the middle of the fan so I had a conservator put a gauze backing on the back of the fan to secure the split. It is signed by Petit Galaux(I can't read the signature very well- maybe you'll have better luck) The fan measures from 6" to 9" in the middle. It measures 11-1/2" across.

Antique paper Fan Lithograph Victorian 1900's bamboo stick fan brass handle
I found this at an auction many years ago. Time for it to find a new home. It is an antique 100-1920's paper and bamboo stick fan. Brass holder at bottom. The lithograph has been hand painted and glitter paint and other spots have been added. It is just beautiful. It opens and closes perfectly but it the paper is fragile.there are some splits happening- and one area has a tear as shown in the photos. I am not an expert in paper so I didn't want to try and glue it back. It is better for someone else to repair or restore this or keep it in a frame or cabinet. I love the scene of cherubs. A girl shooting an arrow from a bow and even a cat. The back has a light decoration on it. It is 9 inches in length and opens to about 15 inches.

This is a lovely little fan. French, made of silk, machine made lace and faux bone sticks and guards. The painting of pink flowers on a green leafed sprig is really lovely. The only fault I can find with this fan is a tiny 1/3" split in the silk near the shoulder of the fan just off center. It does not affect the fan and it is hardly noticeable. It has a brass loop. The fan measures 8-1/2" long by 16" wide when open.

Antique Lace & Ptd. Hand Fan, Soft Pink, Ca. 1900, Wood Sticks Carved & Gilded
I love this fan! The lace and leaf where the small birds are painted is a very soft rose/pink. The lace is scalloped across the top and the wooden sticks and guards are in perfect condition. As is the leaf. Look at the carving on the guard sticks- really lovely! Very minor splitting of the silk leaf at the shoulder- can hardly see it. Comes with a beautiful brown tassel. Wonderful fan! It measures 11-1/2" long and 21-3/4" wide when open. Comes in a box that was not original to the fan.
