ONE OF A KIND! THIS BOX IS VERY LARGE AND MEASURES 32.5" IN LENGTH AND 13.5" IN HEIGHT. We recently purchased this beautiful piece at a family auction in Iowa. This extraordinary item was sold by the family to which it had belonged since around 1900. The piece was a treasured item of a Mr. Charles Mrzlack of Hammond. Indiana. Mr. Mzlack was a shoe cobbler who repaired shoes for the Chicago Bears for many years. This box had belonged to his father, who was also a cobbler and was given to his father by his mother. This ornamental and fully functional box is a shoe shine kit The beautiful box is a sturdy hand made wood with very ornately hammered and patterned copper overlay. The box features a miniature cobblers shoe mold on the top as the handle. The box extends in width with graduated sections which house the antique glass bottles/jars. ... moreThe jars have very ornate copper tops. The jars are very old. Pre-1900, with lots of air bubbles in the very thick glass. The outer curved sections of the box are hinged and open fully with deep storage. The back of the box has locked compartments(the very old key is included) One compartment is a drawer which pulls out, the other is a fold down compartment. The box is in incredible. Antique condition. It has been very well cared for. It is completely original except for the underside shelf(not visible) which seems to be a particle board replacement. The carving is exquisite, even on the back side of the box, which is NOT copper covered. There are not enough words to describe the beautiful patterning to the copper. It varies from an intricate floral, very Art Nouveau pattern on the front center, to a more Arts and Crafts pattern on the curved and side sections. The copper overlay is completely secure with no loose sections. The glass jars. there are 12 included) are also in great condition. Eleven of the jars are 4.25" tall with 1.5" top fitter openings. This is a fabulous figure of a saint and it is pressed in copper. It is pressed in detail much clearer than the pics. The word saint is engraved below the figure. William Hogarth Copper Plate antique engravings 1761, 1790, 1798 Beer Street
William Hogarth engravings; 4 copper plate from 1766; 2 copper plate from 1790. 6 copper plate from 1798, 4 STEEL plate from 1761 and one copper plate circa 1790. All are worn and dirty surrounding the image with foxing and some rips to the plates. Images are mostly good with a couple being dirty but most of the dirt is in the plate rather than the image. 4 from 1766 and 2 from 1790 are 7.5 x 5 inches plate and 5 x 3.5 inches image. 6 from 1798 are various sizes ranging from 2.5 to 5 inches image size. 4 from 1761 are 8 x 10 inches plate size with image being 4.5 x 5.5 inches. One unknown date circa 1790 is 2.5 x 3 inches. It would take someone who knows how to conserve prints to make these right but all could be framed"as is" and show nicely. Free shipping by USPS.

Antique Copper+Nickel+Brass Teapot w/ Wood Handle Likely Rochester Stamping Co.
This beautiful old tea kettle has all the signature details of the late 1880s/ early 1900s Rochester Stamping Company kettles: From the hinged brass lid and its design to the rope-like pattern right under the copper rim area. The ring of hammered dots around the middle and the artful leafy pattern and unique opening of the nickel spout. The only problem: The bottom DOES NOT HAVE a Rochester mark(see picture) What we do know: It looks very old. The inside shows that it has been used. 6" tall. 9" wide from spout to handle. The bottom is 4-1/2" in diameter. It is in very good vintage condition. Has only a few tiny dents that showed in bright sunlight where we took the pictures. The very firm wood handle has minor wear from use. Zooming in on the pictures shows how nice the metal still looks for its age. It will look lovely as ... moredecoration of a country style kitchen.

Pair of jewelled copper over glass perfume/ scent bottles. French or Czechoslovakian. Probably date to early 20th century- Arts and Crafts period. Each bottle is approx 5 3/8 inches high. Hexagonal body on 4 ball feet. Glass is mounted in copper. Each copper panel is set with deep blue stones(deeper than in the'photos) and alternating panels with applied openwork shield decoration. Rim of copper is set with a ring of blue stones. The surface is handhammered/tooled. Bottom of copper mounts differs: one has snake-skin texture while the other has a raised floral decoration. The glass narrows sharply to a long, faceted neck, ending in a gold band and rim. Faceted stoppers. Description: A superb antique French Napoleon III era enamel and gilt bronze jewelry casket. Adorned with five enamel on copper panels of a gorgeous Sevres'Celeste' blue accented by a jeweled border of raised white enamel dots and gilt accents. Each panel is centered by a painted floral cluster of pale pink roses and blue flowers. Likely forget-me-nots. A charming bouquet, beautifully detailed and the colors are stunning against the vibrant blue background. Such vibrant colors and amazing detail is quite difficult to achieve in the art of fire-kiln enamel on copper. As is typical of these pieces, the enameling was likely by one of the master enamellists of Sevres, similar to Bresson enamels with raised jeweled dots and the quality of Limoges enamels. Often the case, these were made exclusively for the Parisian boutique& workshop ... moreof renown retailer and cabinetmaker to Napoleon III: Alphonse TAHAN. The quality is just the same, superb in fact, and though this box lacks the signature often found on the inside edge of the bronze framework, Tahan would also use paper label's bearing his name to be found at the very base of the box(which often got lost or worn with time) This jewelry casket features gilt bronze framework with ornate scrolling feet. In very good to excellent condition for age and type. No missing white jewel dots. No chips or cracks to the enamel plaques, one or two small hairlines. Some wear to the gilding on the bronze as is expected for a piece of this age. The hinged lid opens to reveal a padded tufted and tucked silk lined interior, showing some wear from use but in overall good condition. Antique Artifical Metal Leg -Lower Right Foot Prosthetic w/ Copper Rivets
This very unusual artificial lower right leg(below knee cap) likely dates from the mid to late19th century. Copper rivets along it's base once secured a leather shoe like covering for the foot area while rivets up the back side(mostly missing now) once held a leather or canvas backing. It stands 14& 1/2 inches high and made of cast metal. It is constructed of cast aluminum- a much harder to get metal in the 19th century when this prosthetic was created. In some places the metal is 3/8 of an inch thick or more. A very unique item that would make a very eye catching prop or decorator item. If you get a chance. Please visit my other auctions. Enameling atop silver or gold foiling add just touch of shimmer and realism to the fabric& leaves having gilt painted accents. The artist/enamellist achieved every bit of detail in this portrait. Simply gorgeous! The enamel is done atop a convex copper plaque, which is then kiln fired. It takes a very special skill to produce such quality work, as the enamel is first applied as a powder which then liquefies as it melts. ANTIQUE FRENCH ENAMEL AND COPPER BATTERSEA-TYPE PATCH BOX -- TINY AND WONDERFUL
I am offering for sale an exquisite French enamel box. From, I'm guessing, the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. It is tiny- only an inch and a half in circumference and an inch tall- and wonderfully-detailed. The top shows a young French girl with a sickle and roses, and the bottom is painted with a farmhouse and lake. The inside of the box is copper. It is in amazing shape, with, as far as I can see, no nicks or chips to the enamel. The first photograph, if you zoom in, makes it look as though there's a scratch, but when you look at the box with the naked eye, this is not visible. At least not to this naked eye!

This is an ORIGINAL miniature cast copper repoussé decorative plaque from about 1850 measuring approximately 3 inches in diameter with a concave glass covering. That was possibly part of a framed piece or object. This extraordinary antique copper repousse round plaque depicts a classic allegorical scene with detailed imagery, that tells a story of a bar room brawl or gathering. The workmanship and patina of the copperplate Repousse is magnificent and in excellent antique condition. There is no signature or hallmark that I could find, but it may possibly have been done by the Dutch creator and inventor, Arnold Arens, who invented and had a patent on a machine for a copperplate press for decorations during the mid-19th Century. This is a unique and fine piece for any collector to own.
