ANTIQUE MASON QUART JAR, AQUA, ATLAS BOYDS GENUINE LID, BLUE BALL JAR, ZINC LID
TWO VERY OLD JARS.FROM PENNSYLVANIA(WILLIAMSPORT/MUNCY AREA) This blue Ball jar is one half quart size. pretty blue. And on the front is the logo 6: on the word BALL, it is one of several ways it was written. This one has no underscore or ascender present. To the best of my research, this shows that the jar was made between 1922 and 1933. On the bottom is a"6" which only indicates the mold that was used. You can see tiny bubbles in the glass, and on the front is" BALL PERFECT MASON" It is very clean; the lip on the jar has a few small rough bumps.very small. It has a seam up the entire side. Indicating it was made AFTER 1915. The screw on zinc lid is embossed with BALL and has a Boyd's white porcelain liner inside the cap, which was placed to avoid bacteria and odor from the zinc transferring to the contents of the ... morejar. There are no markings on the porcelain lid. Very clean, no rust.I think this is excellent condition considering its age. THIS MASON JAR IS A QUART SIZE. AQUA IN COLOR, AND I BELIEVE A BULLET OR BEE HIVE SHAPE.I AM NOT CERTAIN. I think this is the aqua color. As it is much lighter than the blues. On the front is MASON'S PATENT NOV 30 1858, the date the patent was approved. There are a few bubbles in the glass. The seams go up the entire sides, meaning it was made after 1915. Around the neck of the jar there are some spidery web marks in the glass. These are not cracks. There is one knick in the wall of the jar which is slightly rough.it is not a hole, but definitely a knick in the glass. There are no markings on the bottom.just a circle nr the middle. And a small circle off to the side. There are a few very superficial spider web cracks(crazing? I'm not sure what you call it) but they are not through the entire glass surface. It has a very interesting.and most likely very OLD. Zinc lid on it. it is a screw on lid with ATLAS EMBOSSED ON IT. 1888 Detailed Genuine Antique Color Map of New York City, from Gaskell's Atlas
This offering features a very nice single-page. Highly-detailed, multi-color map of New York City(Southern Part) The map was rescued from Gaskell's Atlas of the World, published in 1888, which was in unsalvageable condition. The last two photos validate the origin of the map and its publishing date. This map shows Manhattan from the Battery north to 61st street. Also. The map shows the Brooklyn Bridge(called the"suspension" bridge on the map) which was completed only a few years before the publishing of this map. Also, the map illustrates elevated railroads, horse" roads, and"steam" roads in addition to regular streets. Ferry lines to and from the city are also shown, as well as specific steam ship lines. Parts of Jersey City, Brooklyn, and Long Island City are also a part of this map. All the streets and avenues ... morein this southern section of Manhattan are identified as they were named in 1888, plus the major hotels, churches, and theaters are shown and cross referenced in the right margin. This NYC map has a total page size of 10-1/2" wide x 13-1/2" long. And an image size of 8-5/8" wide x 11-1/8" long, plus additional width to accommodate references in the right margin. The map's condition is excellent, with no holes or tears in the image, and a very small tear in the margin. There is a small dog-ear in one corner of the paper and some light soiling in the margin. The paper condition is good with minimal yellowing. The colors are clear and crisp with very little fading(see photos) This map will be carefully wrapped.
