This is a Large. Heavy Vintage Solid Brass or Bronze Door Handle. I cannot say for sure if the handle is bronze or brass. Perhaps the weight will be an indication for a knowledgeable prospective buyer. Although it did not show up well on the photo. The back of the moveable plate on the back is engraved with"FOR RIGHT HAND DOOR" Beyond that, there is no maker's mark nor any other marks. The overall length of this large handle including the upper and lower back plates is about 11 1/4" It weighs 1 pound. 9 ounces and it has a nice heavy feel. LARGE OLD SOLID BRONZE DOOR PULL, ARTS AND CRAFTS DETAILED CUTOUT DESIGN 1900?
We have here an absolutely beautiful door pull in solid bronze. This is a large door pull and would be best adorning a fairly massive door. The whole thing measures 17&1/2" tall and the pull itself is a significant 11" long. The top plate has a hole for a lock to be set in and a keyhole beneath it. This plate measures just under 6&1/2" tall and 3" wide. The hole has a diameter of just about 1&1/4" The bottom plate measures just over 4&1/2" x 3" and has four small holes(one in each corner) for screwing the plate to the door. Each of these panels has a stunning star burst design repeated throughout and cut out details along the edges(please see photos) The handle itself is heavy bronze and is done in an artistic vertical twist of metal. I believe this piece to be from the Arts and Crafts era ... morebased on the design. It is not a new item and does have wear and patina from age. This is a Large Heavy Antique Solid Bronze Door Handle/ Pull with Thumb Latch. There is no maker's mark nor any other marks. The overall length of this large handle including the upper and lower back plates is about 10 5/8" It weighs jsut under two pounds(1 pound. 14.2 ounces) and it has a nice heavy feel. The four mounting holes in the top plate are on 1 3/4" centers horizontally and 2 3/8" centers vertically. The two mounting holes in the bottom plate are on 1 3/8" centers horizontally. The vertical center to center measurement from the bottom holes in the top plate to the holes in the bottom plate is 5 7/8" The holes in the bottom plate are also slightly inset horizontally with respect to the corresponding holes in the top plate. I created the mold and found a local casting shop to pour solid bronze into my mold. I hand detail. And polish all knobs that are made. It is a beautiful cheryb, with angle wings. You will find leaves and grapes in her wavy locks of blonde hair. You will find traditional carvings of leaves on the back of the knob. You will see some imperfections in the item but that shows it is not mechanically made. I do have a patent on the design. This door knob weighs about 5lbs. These 2 door plates and matching 2 door knobs have the old patina that cannot be replicated. Only years and years of dust. Hands touching, weather and climate can create this kind of aging or patina. These items are very old but the truth is that I don't know exactly how old- maybe they are early 20th Century or they are 19th Century. The condition is very good- there is no damage- there are no screws included. But the square rod that connects the two knobs to each other is included. Each plate measures 11 5/16" long. The metal is solid bronze- not plated.

The set consists of 2 bronze knobs, 2 bronze escutcheons, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 working key, 1 brass-plated steel strike plate for the door jamb, and 1 spindle with 1 securing clip. All bronze parts are solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not flimsy stamped/pressed bronze or plated steel. One knob is permanently affixed to the spindle. While the other knob is secured to the spindle using the half-circle clip included with the set. The lock is reversible and could accommodate either a left or right swing door. The top and bottom of the escutcheons are adorned with ... morea wonderful. Gothic style pattern, and the knobs feature the seal of the, Knights of Pythias, encircled with laurel leaves. We acquired the set about 3 years ago. The parts were found dirty. Unevenly tarnished, and with paint streaks along the edges of the plates. We cleaned all parts to a uniform finish. Once the set was clean and ready to photograph, we realized that we didn't have the securing clip for the knob. We put the set to the side until we could find the clip, and since we never found the clip, we completely forgot about the set. We just recently re-discovered the set, and happened to have a washer thick enough to fit the slot in the base of the knob. We cut the washer, and now, the set is ready to install. While the set sat around for 3 years, it developed a subtle patina and some verdigris around the details. All parts are in excellent condition with no breaks. Cracks, chips, dents, or gouges. We opened. Inspected, and sprayed machine oil on and around all internal parts of the lock to facilitate its movement. RARE 2 BRONZE DOOR HANDLES 2 POUNDS ea SOLID 3.75" DIAM BASE 3" Knob 2.75"tall
NOTE THESE ARE NOT DOOR KNOBS THEY ARE DOOR PULLS. LOW RESERVE PRICE! A very Heavy set of Sand Cast Bronze Door Pulls. Maker Mark"PRH" Cast# 519. Weight 2 Pounds each. Project from Door 2& 3/4 Inch. Base Diameter 3& 3/4 Inch. Knob Diameter 3 Inch. One appears to be the active side. Less tarnish and one likely was the door less used. Deep Bronze Patina on all parts. I estimate these are from the early 1900's. Set screws were used more after the turn of the century but theses knobs could be from late 1800's as well. The design is somewhat like a Sun Flower the wreath and ribbon design is found on both the Knob and the base. Questions and Comments welcome. This is my best estimate of age. Condition is WELL ++ Above average for items estimated to be around 100 + or- years old.

Restored Pair Antique Solid Cast Bronze Pocket Sliding Door Pulls Handles Plates
Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Antique Cast Bronze Square Pocket Door Pulls. Handsome. Antique, pocket door pulls salvaged from Southeastern Pennsylvania. They are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast bronze, not plated steel. We found the pulls partially painted and dirty. Since then. We've cleaned and polished both to the best of our ability. Both have light swirly scratches. Which may have been caused by an orbital sander. Perhaps someone was stripping the door they were on and didn't remove them prior to sanding. These are just minor, cosmetic blemishes. However, they are in great physical condition without any breaks, cracks, chips, dents, gouges, or deep scratches.
