LARGE OLD SOLID BRONZE DOOR PULL, ARTS AND CRAFTS DETAILED CUTOUT DESIGN 1900?
We have here an absolutely beautiful door pull in solid bronze. This is a large door pull and would be best adorning a fairly massive door. The whole thing measures 17&1/2" tall and the pull itself is a significant 11" long. The top plate has a hole for a lock to be set in and a keyhole beneath it. This plate measures just under 6&1/2" tall and 3" wide. The hole has a diameter of just about 1&1/4" The bottom plate measures just over 4&1/2" x 3" and has four small holes(one in each corner) for screwing the plate to the door. Each of these panels has a stunning star burst design repeated throughout and cut out details along the edges(please see photos) The handle itself is heavy bronze and is done in an artistic vertical twist of metal. I believe this piece to be from the Arts and Crafts era ... morebased on the design. It is not a new item and does have wear and patina from age. The set consists of 1 bronze pull with 2 backplates and 1 thumb latch, 1 bronze thumbturn, 1 glass knob with a bronze shank(base) and 2-piece steel spindle(connecting rod) 1 bronze mortise cylinder plate, 1 bronze rosette, 1 steel mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 bronze cylinder mortise w/anti-theft collar, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 2 securing nuts and bolts for the pull. If it is not functional, you could also buy a new cylinder for the same price. At the point of salvage. The set was found dirty and heavily tarnished. Since then. We've cleaned and polished the set to the best of our ability. All parts are in great shape with only a few nicks and scratches here and there. Which are typical for hardware this old. However, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches. We opened, inspected, and sprayed WD-40 on and around all internal parts of the mortise lock to facilitate their movement. It operates smoothly. The set looks nice in the photos. But it’s beauty and quality cannot be fully appreciated until you see it in person. Wait until you get you grab a hold of these thick, heavy parts and feel the old-world quality in your hands. Reclaimed Matching Pair SOLID BRONZE BRASS DOOR PULL HANDLES With SCRATCHPLATES This auction is for a super matching pair of reclaimed solid bronze/ brass door pull handles with backplates/scratchplates. The backplates measure 12 inches in length by 2 inches and protrude from the door 2.5 inches. They are good quality solid handles weighing 1.8k for the pair. They are an identical pair except only one scratchplate has a central screw hole. I have left the knobs unpolished with a rich patina should this be the preference of the winning bidder. Antique Victorian Eastlake Brass Or Bronze Door Handle Pull
This is an ornate antique Victorian Eastlake brass or bronze door handle or pull. I would date it 1880s or 1890s. Based on its design. It's a very heavy piece. Weighing 4 pounds exactly(1.814 kg) I'm not sure if it's brass or bronze. But based on it's weight, I would tend to think it's bronze. At its longest point. It measures 13 inches(33 cm) It is 3 3/4 inches wide(9.5 cm) When attached to a door with its two smaller pieces, it protrudes out 4 inches(10.2 cm) It's a great looking piece. The detail is classic Eastlake. There's no company name on it. But I'm sure it was made by a skilled craftsman. Except for some tarnishing. There's no damage to it. This is a Large Heavy Antique Solid Bronze Door Handle/ Pull with Thumb Latch. There is no maker's mark nor any other marks. The overall length of this large handle including the upper and lower back plates is about 10 5/8" It weighs jsut under two pounds(1 pound. 14.2 ounces) and it has a nice heavy feel. The four mounting holes in the top plate are on 1 3/4" centers horizontally and 2 3/8" centers vertically. The two mounting holes in the bottom plate are on 1 3/8" centers horizontally. The vertical center to center measurement from the bottom holes in the top plate to the holes in the bottom plate is 5 7/8" The holes in the bottom plate are also slightly inset horizontally with respect to the corresponding holes in the top plate. Antique Norwalk, Cast Bronze Door Pull Set c.1885, RH Swing Only
Item description Antique Norwalk cast bronze door pull set c.1885. This is one of the most popular vernacular patterns of the day and Norwalk was one of the largest hardware companies. This pattern was long lived and can be found on many different types of hardware. The pattern is mostly recognized for the gingerbread shingle background design that covers almost every exposed surface. The only part of the handles showing any appreciable wear is the interior side thumb trigger. Otherwise the door plates and handles are all in excellent condition. The set was designed for use on an exterior store front door, but could be used for an interior application as well. The original mortise lock was beyond repair, so I have paired the handles with a very good Corbin unit from the same period. The Corbin mortise lock uses a superior anti-friction key, ... morefour internal tumbler design, and was built for an extremely long service life. The anti-friction key, the small latch, allows the door to close much more smoothly than a standard lock. The dead bolt was filed to a slight taper at some point, but operates smoothly with the key and correctly fits the included boxed bronze strike plate. The mortise lock is not reversible and will only work with a right hand swing door. The set includes a very difficult to find, correct flat steel dead bolt key, that works exactly as it should. Penn Antique Restoration. Antique Bronze Entry Door 14 1/2" Pull Set w/Handles. Plates, Lock. Wonderful. Antique, pull entry set removed from an old door that we salvaged from an apartment building in Northeastern Pennsylvania(see last photo) The set consists of 2 stamped bronze back plates, 2 cast bronze handles and thumb latches, 1 iron mortise lock with bronze faceplate, 1 bronze strike plate for the door jamb, and 4 securing nuts an washers. All bronze parts are solid bronze, not plated iron. The mortise lock is fully reversible and could accommodate the swing of any door. There are no cylinder mortises included because we do not have any that are keyed alike. However. You could pick them up at any hardware store or locksmith. We found the parts with a gorgeous patina. Which did not want to disturb. Notice the heavy verdigris on ... moreone of the pulls-truly amazing! However, if you like you hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish the set for an additional charge of $40- email us after the auction. Someone drilled an additional hole to insert a screw. In between the upper and lower screw holes. The back plates of the pulls have a small tiny dents and dings that are tough to spot unless you examine them closely. We had an extremely difficult time removing the lock from the door, and accidentally broke the cover plate of the lock body in the process. Fortunately, it was a clean break and we were able to re-secure the 2 broken parts using an industrial strength epoxy. There is a visible scar, but once installed in a door, the scar and lock body would be hidden. Otherwise, all parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, or gouges. The lock was opened, inspected, and we sprayed grease on and around all internal parts to facilitate their movement. It operates smoothly. These cast rings weigh 2 3/4 lbs. each and measure 5 3/4" round x 1 1/4" projection. Pulls will work on doors up to 6" thick(longer rods available) Decorative pulls were designed to use on high end sectional garage doors that had solid wood on the exterior and a finished 1/4" thick plywood panel on the interior which created a hollow pocket. VTG Antique Fancy Solid Brass/Bronze NOS? Screen Door Handle Drawer Pull 7 1/2"
You are bidding on a Vintage Antique Fancy NOS? Solid Brass/Bronze East Lake Screen Door Handle Drawer Pull. The handle measures 7 1/2" end to end. The holes are 4 3/8" center to center lengthwise. The holes are 1 1/8" center to center on the up and down measurement. It stands 1 1/2" tall so it would fit any hand to open the door or push up the window. It has a great East Lake design on the ends. It is marked on the back but I can not read what it says. This is NOS? possibly never been used. It is in very nice condition and ready to use.
